great camera and not expensive! by aryia ,Jan 14 '07
Pros: price, picture clear, different options. Cons: screen on camera isn't very big.
My father in law bought this for my husband for his birthday and i have to tell you that this camera is wonderful. You can take movies with it, and the movies come out very clear and the sound is not choppy at all. The pictures come out very clear. You can make sepia, black and white, or add your own color to your pictures. You can also add different borders to the pictures as well. There is so many options with this camera you can't beat the price. I give it A++++
Good pictures but very fragile by dave0072 ,Sep 05 '07
Pros: Easy to use and takes good pictures. Cons: Fragile LCD display, unavailable replacement parts, excessive repair costs.
Bought this camera on sale at a local computer store. Took great pictures put I tapped the LCD screen against something and broke it. Contacted HP about getting a replacement screen but they won't sell it separately. Asked about cost of repair/exchange and they wanted more than I paid for the camera in the first place. Took it apart and discovered LCD screen is made of thin glass with no protection against damage. A simple plastic protector would've saved the display but was left out due to poor design. End result is I bought another camera.
I puchased the HP Photo smart M425 because of the price. I love the pictures I have taken with it.They are very clear. There is no view finder but I am able to see the subject I am shooting. I think this is a Great little camera. I would recommend it.
Pros: Cheap to purchase. Cons: Poor photo quality.
First impressions of the HP M425 digital camera are appealing due to the low cost of the camera and the high mega-pixel rating.
But after using the camera for taking photos of my precious memories, I was quite disappointed. The clarity of the photo is ok to say the least --- the flash is huge disappointment.
All indoor shots I've taken with this camera had tons of "photo noise" in the background due to the fact the flash does not fill the background.
So unless your subject is within flash range, or outdoors in the natural sunlight, expect to get poor photos from this over priced "toy" camera.
