Pros: It performs multiple functions Cons: It doesn't perform any one of them very well
My home and workplace offer me several opportunities to sample and evaluate different pieces of hardware products and among them, the ones that seem to have the greatest differences in quality and performance are the printers. One printer that I use in ...
Pros: Good for the person that always likes to complain. Cons: Quality, reliability, functionality are all sub-par on all fronts.
Yes, I probably bought this for the same reason many of you may be considering this add-on: it is inexpensive, acts as a fax machine, scans pictures/documents, makes copies and prints in color. Well, that sounds very good until you try to use it for a ...
Pros: Cheap, good quality printing Cons: Not very durable, scanner broke soon after purchase
We've had our Hewlett Packard Officejet 4215v all-in-one printer/scanner/copier/fax for about 2-3 years now. It still works well to print, fax and copy, but the scanner part quit working not too long after we bought it. In fact, I ruined a document by ...
Pros: Exports scanned documents straight to PDF Cons: Inadequate software
This piece of junk was brought to you by the fine folks at Hewlett Packard. I've heard that HP started in a garage. But that was a long time ago, and you'd expect their products to have evolved since that stage in the company's evolution. But you'd be ...
Pros: Prints, scans and copies (single sheets only) acceptably well. Cons: Consistantly grabs several sheets at a time requiring hand-feeding any multi-page document.
I've had the HP Officejet 4215 for about a year and a half. It prints beautifully in color or black & white and also scans and copies quite well, the copies frequently looking better than the original. But I bought it primarily for faxing and ...
Pros: great price, ease of use, long lasting ink cartridges Cons: printing speed somewhat slow
I bought this printer because of the price (about $100). I have been extremely happy with its performance. It was extremely easy to set up and the function keys on top are easy to understand. The ink cartridges are also easy to install. I've had other ...
Pros: Feature-rich with small footprint. Folds up very compactly when not in use. Cons: HP's terrible customer service spoils the potential of even the best printer design.
Unlike several other reviewers, I never had a single paper jam (or the phantom paper jam error) happen in the 10 months I owned my unit. I was happy with all the functions and used them all in my home-based business. I would have liked it to scan ...
Pros: small, cheap, user-friendly, multifunction (print, fax, scan, copy), color, print speed for small jobs Cons: not top-loading, print speed for large jobs
i bought this all-in-one printer because i needed a printer that wouldn't take up much space in an already cluttered 10'x10' room and because i barely had any money to spend. it's a color printer too, which is hard to live without. even with its tiny ...
Pros: Quietness, speed, overall quality. Cons: Flimsy construction, small paper handling capacity, no handset attached to the unit.
I purchased this unit a few days ago and it has been a champ in every way. My girlfriend owns a store which does a good amount of printing daily and faxing regularly and the Lexmark X6510 she bought a year and a half ago die suddenly so we bought this unit. Initially we bought a Lexmark 4270 and that was the worst unit I have seen. The HP is very quiet and the print speed and quality is excellent. The only thing that raised a little concern is the construction seem a little flimsy but I guess as long as you don't drop it you should be fine.
I bought my HP Officejet 4215 All-in-One printer-scanner-fax-copier about 5 months ago. There were too many functions for it to handle. After about 5 months, I began running into problems trying to print envelopes--the return address would not print or printed too far to the left so that part of the return address never appeared. The delivery address also was off-center even when all margins were properly set and the print preview showed the orientation correctly. The envelopes frequently jammed necessitating opening the case then restarting it. The scanner is a curved bed which makes scanning small pictures or illustrations almost impossible because they get stuck and jam the machine. I tried HP on-line chat support but that go me no where. Right now my HP printer is only half-working. I'm going to dump it.
Great home office printer, fax, scanner, copier for the price. by EpinionsZing ,Apr 26 '05
Pros: Solid for home office use. Small foot print. Relatively easy to install. Cons: Cost of ink cartridges.
If you're looking for a easy to use fax, printer, scanner, copier, I'd highly recommend the HP 4215.
I've owned 4 HP home office products in the last 10 years. After my last purchase I promised myself never to buy another one. My wife, however, purchased this. After a brief installation process, I was convinced that HP had finally done something right.
The printer is fast, clean and acceptable for most home office businesses (not laser quality). The faxing is easy. Scanning is much improved both from the ease of use and output. The copier is easy and relatively fast.
Previous HP printers were made so cheaply I wondered how much worse they could get. Well the 4215 has taken a different approach: the unit is solid; instructions and labels are clear and easy to read. Plugs and panels are intuitive. Someone at HP finally woke up. Nice work.
Excellent for home office/business. by abodylovedinc ,Nov 21 '05
Pros: Ease of set up and functions; quiet and compact. Cons: Cost of ink. I mean really, come on!
I work full time as a nurse, but I've also just started a part time home based business. Because of space issues, I wanted the "all in one" printer and after researching all available, I decided that for the money I would go with the HP 4215. I can tell you, I am not sorry! It's very easy to install and all of the functions are very easy to use as well. The on-screen instruction for scanning is very easy. The printer is very quiet and fast. Copying is easy and fast enough as well. I would most definitely recommend this for home office or small or part time home based business.
run, run very fast away from this one by forestdr ,Mar 07 '07
Pros: Looks pretty, nothing else comes to mind Cons: Everything one can think of in a negative manner about a printer
I usually like HP products but this one is simply awful! After spending 8 hours trying to install it via disk, I ended up downloading it from the website.Paper jams, right now it is on strike and will not print anything, only sends paper through as though copying. I am on my way to someplace for a better printer. I have already dented my tabletop from frustration with this printer. My first printer was a HP and it still works great after 10 years but is not all in one.
Hardly a day goes by without trouble from this printer by bigfattoad ,Jun 19 '07
Pros: Doesn't cost much and makes copies. Cons: Eats up ink; jams often; prints out slowly.
As a graduate student working on my thesis, I spend a lot of time revising and printing out documents. Unfortunately, the hp 4215 gets into paper jams on a daily basis (doesn't matter whether there is a little paper loaded, or a lot); gobbles up ink the way an SUV gobbles up gas (much faster than our old printer, which I think was made by Brother);and prints very slowly, with numerous lengthy pauses, some of which last a minute or more. Paper jams are accompanied by horrible rattling, choking and beeping noises. This printer is such a bummer that, penniless as I currently am, I am about to break down and buy a different model (and probably also a different brand).
Pros: It has a small footprint. It prints faster one which cost twice as much. Cons: Color is off; jams too easily; low paper capacity.
I can only put about 15 sheets of paper into the printer feeder or it jams. Actually, it jams way too often anyway. Changing print cartridges is a little different. You have to push and snap it in place. I thought I was going to break it the first time I tried it.
The paper feeds out onto the feeder tray which is inconvenient.
I usually recommend HP printers (only ones I buy) but this one should be passed up. It's very inexpensive but you get what you pay for.
Do not try to use all the functions. It's a sub-$100 printer--how well do you think all of them are going to work?
This has worked as a "bridge" printer while I research getting a better one. Still going with HP but definitely going with a more robust AIO. I wish HP would quit making junk printers that turn customers away.
