Pros: Very good quality, reasonable price
Cons: Slow, can't handle non-35mm negatives such as APS or large format

Pros: high quality, easy to use, compact
Cons: can be hard to place slides/film correctly, software not very helpful
Summary: My favorite new toy is the HP PhotoSmart 20 film scanner. Flat bed conversion systems never gave great results and other film scanners of the same quality cost far more. This little one-button box is just about right.

Pros: Small footprint. Fits where conventional scanners won't fit. Resolution is excellent.
Cons: Noisy. Won't work on OS later than XP. Small feed for photos.
Summary: I've had the HP S20 since about 2001. Only problem is that I now have Windows Vista and it won't work on that operating system. Fortunately I kept my old computer that worked on Windows 98 and can still use my S20 with that. But it sure

Pros: Easy to use software
Excellent with Hamrick's.
Cons: No use to it under XP
