Haven't you heard about Hilton Head by now? It is now my new favorite location to vacation.
I've been to many beaches and this one will knock your socks off. Getting there is a snap. You can fly into Savannah Airport and take the ride to HHI, or fly directly into HHI. We prefer Savannah since there are more flights and prices are typically much lower.

We have vacationed in Hilton Head for over 30 years and we have rented many vacation homes from Island Getaway. This year the home was totally misrepresented. We paid $6,300 for one week and the house was a complete disaster.

Pros: bikes dropped off on time, order correct
Cons: poor condition of bike, horrendous treatment when problem was reported

Avoid Patriot Bike Rentals.  One bike we rented appeared to be in poor condition, but functioned adequately.  Broke completely on final vacation day leaving us stranded.  It is obvious they do not maintain their bikes as well as their website claims.  When I called afterwards to report the issue (I was not angry, just wanted to make sure they knew), the manager was rude and condescending. He indicated it was my fault for not calling sooner...guess I was supposed to predict that it was going to break down.  All I was expecting was a sincere apology for the inconvenience and perhaps a credit for the rental or future rental.  His treatment of me was unbelievably poor, the exact opposite of what any firm would strive to do to cultivate customer loyalty.  Enough so, I felt compelled to write about it, something I never do.
