Pros: runs for 24 hours, auto shut-off, easy to refill, has refill warning light Cons: cord length is short at 4 1/2 feet
I have been going through a series of humidifiers that last a year or two and then die. These are not inexpensive appliances, and you would think they would last longer. The colder months are here, and I like adding warm mist into the air. Now Im ...

Pros: Easy to fill, filterless design, nice enough appearance Cons: Not terribly effective, a pain to maintain
We use it to humidify our 400SF bedroom at night. This will be our third winter. We haven't a hygrometer, but I am about to get one, because I honestly do not detect a great difference in humidity.I am studying what may be contributing factors. I'll ...

Loud and broke in one day
by seg189 ,Jan 04 '07
Pros: looks cool and holds a lot of water (runs for long time) Cons: loud and poorly made (button broke on day 2)
I just purchased the Bionaire Filter Free Warm Moisture Humidifier. My fiance and I were very annoyed all night. This thing is LOUD. In the past any humidifier I have used was silent with the occasional "bubble" of water. The Bionaire BWM2600 was very loud all night...I kept thinking someone was knocking on the door or tapping. It was awful.
The next night we thought we'd give it another try and when pushing the "re-set" button, the button broke off right into the machine. I will be returning this asap!

Not worth the money
by ssjarvis ,Feb 03 '07
Pros: Doesn't require a filter, easy to clean Cons: Doesn't increase the humidity
We had a Honeywell humidifier that didn't have the warm mist feature so we bought the Bionaire BWM2600 to replace it. We liked that it didn't require filters and that it looked easy to clean. However, we haven't noticed any change in the humidity in the room. (We're using a Oregon Scientific Weather Station to monitor any changes in temp and humidity.) I'm pretty disappointed with this model and will be returning it first thing tomorrow.

so far...so good...
by udflyer ,Jan 15 '07
Pros: it works Cons: a bit noisy, no humidistat
I have gone through 2 Honeywell humidifiers with no luck. This one, so far has been good...although the Honeywell ones died on the next season, so we'll see if this one dies next season.
So far, I like it. I wish it had a humidistat to monitor the humidity. Sometimes at night it gets stifling and I have to wake up to turn it down/off. I have it on a timer to turn on/off by itself, to help monitor the humidity.
It IS a bit noisy....it's the boiling water that you hear. But I got used to it quickly and don't even hear it anymore.

BRAND NEW - DIDNT EVEN WORK
by eura ,Jan 04 '08
Pros: None. It looks cool? I guess thats it. Cons: DIDN'T WORK
I bought the very last remaining one of these from Bed Bath & Beyond for $50. I thought I got a great item, but what I really got instead was a hunk of junk.
I read the manual first, and made sure I knew how to operate it (like i do with everything i buy). When it was on, 2 lights came on, and I let it sit.
1 hour later, it's still sitting, 2 lights, no noise, no NOTHING! I went online to read about it, and many people complain about it not working, or it breaking right away!
MINE WAS BROKE! I had to return it. BB&B gave me my money back. I'll never buy this brand again.

Broke after 25 days
by jendud ,Dec 28 '07
Pros: If you like loosing money, buy this model. Cons: Stops working after 25 days
I bought this product thinking Bionaire is a good name so it would be with us for a while. It lasted all of 25 days before dying on us. I've emailed Bionaire a number of times and they have never responded. I'm very disappointed.

No bargain. Broke in 40 days!
by legalchef ,Dec 06 '08
Pros: Decent moisture output and auto shut-off. Cons: Quit working after 40 days.
Originally, I was thrilled at the fact that I would not have to deal with replacement filters that are costly and hard to find, but after spending $45.00 for this product, it broke after 40 days. I was happy with the amount of moisture it put in the air for those 40 days, but it is not worth $1.00 a day for it. I have written the company via their website (http://www.bionaire.com), but have yet to receive a response.

Wouldn't buy again
by pattypye ,Jan 11 '09
Pros: Operates without a filter. All the components can be easily cleaned. Cons: Unreliable. The water tank is poorly designed.
It worked for about two weeks and even though it was a bit noisy I was willing to accept that as a trade-off for not having to bother with a filter. We live in the South where the weather frequently turns warm during the winter. The humidifier was turned off for a period of about 5 days. When it was turned back on it emitted an extremely foul sulphur-like odor. Apparently some sort of electrical element was burning. The unit was returned and I will not accept a replacement.
