Pros: Great, small, easy to use, and SUPER QUIET heater Cons: The one touch button is a little clunky and kind of annoying to use.
The Holmes Whipser Quiet Power Heater Fan stands less than a foot tall. The heater itself doesn't look like much and I was skeptical about whether or not it can really fulfill my space heating needs. I live in an apartment which doesn't have central ...

Pros: reliable; great safety features; reasonably priced; heats well Cons: none
SAFETY FIRST The Holmes Heater is designed with safety in mind. It automatically cuts off if it is tipped over, reducing fire risks sometimes associated with space heaters. The spaces left open for circulating the heat are close enough together ...

Love It
by dhartzell ,Jan 02 '07
Pros: QUIET Cons: Thermostat needs to be set higher than the temperature you want.
This was part of my heater search this year. I had an older fairly quiet Holmes heater. I bought a new oil filled heater. Then I bought a noisy ceramic heater and then finally I bought this heater. The oil filled doesn't really seem to kick out much heat as far as I'm concerned. I guess I would need an electrical meter to see. The other fan were both noisy and the older quieter one had no thermostat.
I bought 1 of these after experiencing the three other types of heaters. This one was nice and quiet so I bought two more.
The air is brought in through the sides of the tubular grid heating element so the air doesn't have to move so fast to extract the heat.
All settings are controlled with one button. The button sets to continuous low (extremely quiet), continuous high (very pleasant), and 60,65,70,75, and 80 degree thermostatic settings of low and high.
The thermostat will not keep the room at the temperature you want unless you set it about 5 to 10 degrees above desired temperature.

Pros: Quiet, good thermostat Cons: None
I have been looking for a while for a QUIET space heater for my office and have bought a few that said they were quiet, but were not! This is perfect. It heats well, quickly and quietly.

Complete junk
by walruski ,Feb 19 '08
Pros: Quiet Cons: Just about everything else
I bought this to replace a noisy space heater. The fan is quiet enough alright. But the unit just plain doesn't work. When turning it on to the manual Hi setting the fan runs for less than 2 minutes. Then I see a small blue spark from the fan area and it shuts down and will not go back on. To reset the unit you have to unplug it for 10 minutes and plug it back in, only to have the cycle repeat itself. The thermostat settings are no better. It also has a very annoying orange led that is always on when the unit is plugged in. I can't return it because I couldn't find the receipt, and sending it in requires you provide return postage. $30 down the drain. Do not consider this unit as an option.

Didn't work
by doubleh28 ,Oct 29 '05
Pros: Thermostat and powerful heating element. Cons: Fan was unoperational.
As soon as I opened the product I read the instructions and warnings. The heating element worked fine, but the fan never turned on and the heater began smoking. I unplugged it and tried it again the next morning with the same result.
