Pros: Ride, Handling, Interior Space, Panoramic Visibility, Responsive Power Cons: One-piece Rear Hatch, Expensive Accessories, We drive it too much. The Bottom Line: If you want the most refined and capable full-sized vehicle that runs on regular gasoline, get the Honda Pilot.
For our family's all-wheel or 4-wheel-drive vehicle needs, we've owned two Isuzu Troopers (before they got big and clumsy), a Ford Aerostar XLT AWD, and Two Ford Explorer XLTs. We got interested in trading-in our 2000 Ford Explorer because it was hard to...

Pros: Driving experience, interior design, storage room, value. Cons: Exterior design, 3rd-row seats, road noise, no door guards. The Bottom Line: An outstanding vehicle with lots of little extras for a great value. Is it perfect? No. But its flaws are minor and it is a pleasure to drive.
I spent several weeks reading all the SUV ratings and recommendations and ended up with a Pilot. I couldn't be more pleased. My Pilot EX-L has Honda's top trim package, and has every major option (rear cargo cover, day/night mirror, 6-CD changer, etc.) ...

Pros: VTEC engine is very quiet, reliable, and powerful. Great outward visibility. Car like ride. Cons: No heated outside rearview mirrors. Navigation system has limited "mapping" for some Olympic Peninsula locations. The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend the Pilot. It is a good value for the money. Its versatility and car like ride with off road ability makes it a winner.
I was going to purchase the new Accord. Test drove the accord and the pilot. I liked the driving position and outward visibility of the pilot. The Variable Torque Management 4 wheel drive system for off road conditions made the pilot my choice. The ride...

Pros: Solid and quiet; inspires confidence Cons: Looks like every other SUV The Bottom Line: Time will tell if the initial quality holds up, but the Pilot feels like a much more expensive vehicle.
I had a chance to drive a Honda Pilot recently and it was an impressive experience. The vehicle looks and feels rock solid, leading me to believe that it will be comfortable and durable. Of course, time will tell if the Pilot is durable but it sure gave...

Pros: Overall package is like no other in its class. The ultimate SUV Cons: Can't really think of any The Bottom Line: This SUV really has no competition because it takes the best from the best and adds that understated quality that Honda adds to all their vehicles.
After an exhaustive search and many hours of SUV research I decided to purchase the 2003 Honda Pilot EX-L. Now after my first 1000 miles I can say with no hesitation that this is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. The ride, looks, price and...

Pros: Fuel economy, maintenance costs, ride and performance, retained value, utility. Cons: Tow rating, lack of skid plating, hitch price, knee hits shifter in 1-2 The Bottom Line: It met my wants and needs so I ordered one, good fuel economy, fun to drive, Honda reliability, Honda retained value.
Dollars:
I am Canadian so all will be CND $'s.
In Canada they cost $42,000 for the EX or $44,000 for the EX-L with freight included. The only difference is leather trim and heated seats. To me this is a great value for an 8...

Pros: Lots of attitude; Sedan-like, smooth ride; Safety, comfort and roominess Cons: Scarcity and dealer mark-up The Bottom Line: The only bad thing about the Honda Pilot is that you may not soon be able to pilot one. In addition, mark up will keep the regular consumer away!
If you are looking for comfort, style, roominess, power, comfort and decent interior design, The Pilot has everything you may need. In fact, on the company's web site, you will read that if you have a picky teenager, he/she won't hesitate to have you...

Pros: Decent HP, ergonomics, interior space, ride, good handling for an SUV. Cons: Some controls should have been illuminated, lack of some basic accessories. The Bottom Line: Excellent vehicle for the price! Excellent customer service! Excellent all around package!
I purchased this vehicle 3 weeks ago and must say it has, and will continue to be a pleasure to drive. Though I had researched and had been very interested in the Pilot since its roll-out... I had planned to keep a '97 Honda Passport and invest in a 'ca ...

Pros: Honda reliability, easy to drive, room for the family and stuff, creature comforts Cons: Priced a little high, third row tight, a little boring in the "looks" category The Bottom Line: A great quasi-luxury SUV with Honda reliability, room for several passengers and good gas mileage. An excellent alternative to the minivan.
I use my SUV for work and for my family. I am in the construction business and my work takes me to many destinations each day. My company also allows me to reasonably choose my vehicle and use it liberally for personal use. This is a great "perk" and...

Pros: Powerful V6 240hp engine, comfortable cabin, nice and easy handling, super cold air conditioning! Cons: "NON" negotiating dealer's,spare size tire should be larger, the headlights should be Xenon. The Bottom Line: If you want a s.u.v that is capable of doing what ever you want to do;than the Pilot should be your choice!
I bought my Honda Pilot for MSRP in Detroit.Caution if you are planning to purchase the Pilot don't pay more than MSRP;I had to shop around to get mine for MSRP.In Detroit this S.U.V is very popular so all the dealer's are trying to make money by...

Pros: Smoothness, acceleration, visibility, not flashy Cons: Leg room in 3rd row, driver's seat comfort The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car to all who love safety, reliability, vehicle control, space, and overall value. Not to mention, ever hear of the re-sale value of Honda's
I have a large family (myself, my wife, and six children) and we use the car often. Everybody is comfortable and happy in the car although i regret not buying the DVD system and the leather trim. Little ones need to be in the back, the 3rd row seat...

Pros: Fuel economy, Navigation, Reliability, and Comfort. Cons: Expensive, no MP3 option, Navi upgrade too expensive. The Bottom Line: If you see one for a good price, run don't walk.
When our old minivan needed to go we were shocked at the price of a new one. We also like having three seats across the middle row for kids and wanted all-wheel drive. Most new Vans do not have AWD so they can have seating that disappears into the floor. ...

Pros: well designed interior, quiet and smooth ride, good acceleration Cons: 3rd row cramped-only seats kids,no seat heaters, poor fuel efficiency (like all 4wd) The Bottom Line: I love my Pilot and if you need to haul gaggles of kids and still feel like you're driving a luxury car, it rocks.
I went to Honda to test drive an Odyssey because I was tired of the noisiness and lack of pick up with my '96, 4 cylinder, Subaru outback. I loved the Odyssey, very fun to drive, but we have one toddler and are expecting twins, so I really needed to see...

Pros: Its a HONDA-90,000 miles and we still love it. Cons: The front seats are a little tight if you are wide of rear like me! The Bottom Line: Ownership for 6 years and 190,000 miles means we love it and are going to hang on for another 190,000.
After our 1997 Chrysler T & C Minivan started needing repairs every month we went new car shopping. Looked at Suburban,(too big, too thirsty), Expedition (same), Envoy XL (why buy a stretch ?) and Highlander (too small) We settled on the Pilot. Now ...
