by ef93si
Jul 16 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Honda always delievers, even with their SUVS, feature rich, and ease of driving.
Cons: Not a big time SUV, means it's still an around town deal.
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for an SUV to make the hauls from Home depot and handle your around town deals, then Honda is the car for you

I test drove this car new on the market this year, and honda did not fail to deliver on all the need ...

Pros: Gas mileage, comfort, fit and reliable.
Cons: Parking Brake not tight enough (fixed), loose console cover.
The Bottom Line: If you need to be safe, carry the family, and don't want a van, this is it!

I test drove a lot of cars. I am 40 inches from rump to the top of my head. This car and the Honda ...

by jazjam
Jul 07 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Not a minivan, but can replace one--and more.
Cons: Little price negotiation.
The Bottom Line: Of course you want it. Now how do you get it instead of a minivan?

Now that you want a Pilot (see the other excellent reviews in this section), I’ll try to give you a ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: No daytime running lights, 66 inch track, fit and finish good, accoutrements and ergonomics good.
Cons: Doors, parking brake jagged sharp places. Noisy when rear windows down and front up.
The Bottom Line: Very good purchase.

Price was "driveout." Don't yet know about reliability because we got the car April 18, 2003. Hon ...

GREAT VALUE ... GREAT SPACE ... GOOD MILEAGE

by missgrumpy60
Jun 04 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Best SUV for the money; powerful engine; roomy interior.
Cons: The front passenger seat is hand-cranked, not electric.
The Bottom Line: Excellent SUV

I drove a 1977, 1990, 1996 Suburban. I got between 9-14 mpg. Continual breakdowns made it an unhappy driving experience. The windshield in the 96 Suburban cracked three times the first week I owned the car.

I tested the Highlander,...

The 'basic' Honda pilot works for an average family w/15k update

by brianutah
May 26 '03 - Updated Feb 13 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Quality, roominess, flexibility
Cons: blind spots, gas cap, power window control, rear seat setup
The Bottom Line: This is a solid, well built SUV for doing about everything a 'normal' family would want to do

After much research and many test drives we bought a Honda Pilot LX. 'We' are your average family, 2 adults, to kids (3 and 6 yrs old) and 2 dogs (which counts as the extra 0.5 child!) We've had the Pilot for about a month now, so I'll describe our ...

Car of the Year???

May 11 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Everything
Cons: I can't find a flaw
The Bottom Line: Get this car if you can afford it. You will not be let down.

I work at an Investment firm, and this year I guess I did a bang up job and recieved a comfortable bonus. So I thought to myself, Larry, spoil yourself. So I went to my local Honda dealer and picked this beauty up, and life has been good ever since. I...

Enough room for all.

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Large Cargo Area, smooth ride
Cons: should have 6-CD in dash changer option
The Bottom Line: If you need to haul a lot of cargo and lots of tall folks, this is the car I recommend. Very impressive for a vehicle in its first year run.

We were looking to trade in our 1994 Chevrolet Blazer and went to an auto show in our area in January. Out of all the sport utilities there, we chose the Honda Pilot.
Why?

1. My husband and I are tall folks, both over 6 feet tall, and...

World Class Vehicle

Apr 20 '03 - Updated Apr 21 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Ride, Handling, Interior Space, Panoramic Visibility, Responsive Power
Cons: One-piece Rear Hatch, Expensive Accessories, We drive it too much.
The Bottom Line: If you want the most refined and capable full-sized vehicle that runs on regular gasoline, get the Honda Pilot.

For our family's all-wheel or 4-wheel-drive vehicle needs, we've owned two Isuzu Troopers (before they got big and clumsy), a Ford Aerostar XLT AWD, and Two Ford Explorer XLTs. We got interested in trading-in our 2000 Ford Explorer because it was hard to...

Apr 17 '03 - Updated Jan 09 '04

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Price, Standard amenities, Easy to drive.
Cons: Ho-hum styling, Third row seating should match the quality of the 2nd row.
The Bottom Line: Better than the Passport, but still could use some major improvements.

When Honda first introduced the Passport (better known as the Izuzu Rodeo) back in late 1993, Honda showed that they were not exactly the most competent company when it came to making quality built mid-sized SUVs. While the Passport offered adequate ...

by gkkun
Apr 03 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Smoothness, acceleration, visibility, not flashy
Cons: Leg room in 3rd row, driver's seat comfort
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car to all who love safety, reliability, vehicle control, space, and overall value. Not to mention, ever hear of the re-sale value of Honda's

I have a large family (myself, my wife, and six children) and we use the car often. Everybody is comfortable and happy in the car although i regret not buying the DVD system and the leather trim. Little ones need to be in the back, the 3rd row seat...

Mar 23 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Reliability, Gas Mileage, and Traditional
Cons: Color (Black)
The Bottom Line: It is a great car to buy because of its room, dependability, and safety (5-stars in major categories!).

#1-It is a Japanese car-meaning that it will last for a long time.
#2-It has god gas mileage so you save green.
#3-It is not one of those phony looking models that try to be flashy-it is a traditional but unique and subdued style.
#4-The...

Mar 22 '03 - Updated Mar 24 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: No

Pros: 3rd Row seating, DVD System, Honda Reliability
Cons: Handling, Seats, Looks, Interior Space, Build Quality.
The Bottom Line: If must have a Honda suv, get an MDX. There about the same as far as price goes.

First Impression:
I drove this on a test drive. I wanted to compare it to my explorer. The one I drove was a loaded out EX with DVD system. The black paint had multipule scratches and wasn't as glossy as I would have expected. Plus the exterior had...

For vanaphobes, this is the vehicle for you.

by groman2003
Mar 14 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Very spacious, comfortable interior. Very quiet ride for a vehicle of this size
Cons: Fuel economy.
The Bottom Line: If you need a spacious, comfortable and safe family vehicle and are allergic to vans, this is the vehicle for you.

Finally, Honda has come out with a full size sport utility vehicle! The quality construction for which Honda is synonymous is evident in the Pilot. Has enough cup holders and power outlets to handle any long road trips with children. The third row is...
