Overall I completely agree with the other reviewer; she did a great job of describing this product. However I would like to add that those with hard water might have some difficulty with this unit. Ours shuts off about every 4 or 5 days and needs a thorough cleaning due to scale build up. It's not a difficult procedure to clean the unit, but it's not particularly fun either. It requires some vinegar (or CLR) and I use an old toothbrush to scrub the parts. Additionally, if you don't have a dishwasher, you have to hand scrub the removable pieces as well. Again, cleaning this unit isn't that difficult, but I view it as an unpleasant chore necessary to get the unit to work again. Given our particular situation with the hard water, I don't think I'd buy this unit again even though it DOES do an outstanding job. However the frequency of the cleaning means we'll be on the market for a humidifier with a filter shortly.

I've had 2 units for about 2 years now and I've been happy with the product. However, recently within two weeks of each other, both water tanks need to be replaced. The first one has a lined crack along the unit and the second one shattered into several pieces. Notified Kaz and ordered replacement tanks (w/o caps) $12 each + $6.95 (shipping). They said that there were no other similar occurrences. Perhaps it was the unnecessary Protec cleaning cartridges placed into the tanks. I just wanted to put it out there that the tanks might be harmful. I'm still ordering the tanks because I like how the product works and since this seems to be the most cost effective method unfortunately, and cross my fingers that these new tanks won't break!

I just got this humidifier a few weeks ago, and I am very pleased with it. It is easy to use and to clean, and it does the job!

The unit is medium sized and sleek. The water compartment is easy to remove and put back into the humidifier when you are refilling it. I have had no leaking problems to date.

Most of the parts are dishwasher safe, which makes it a cinch to clean each week. Otherwise, I just wipe down the water tank daily.

The humidifier does a great job of increasing the humidity level in my medium sized bedroom. I put it on high and it lasts all night. I usually sleep 8-9 hours, and when I wake up, it is still running and there is still water in the tank. But there is also an automatic shut off if you need to leave it on longer than that.

It is also fairly quiet. You can hear the water bubbling, but the sound is not enough to keep me awake.

I have had it for two years now. One machine humidified the entire main floor of my house, left on 24/7. When I moved to an apartment, I found just leaving it on over night was plenty. It makes just a little gurgling noise, but does send a gallon of water per day into the air. You should clean it with vinegar once a week, but really can go longer---it's no trouble. I am very pleased with this product, and my dry-air nosebleeds have stopped.
