Pros: Long 7 foot cord; surround 360 degrees blow heat Cons: No sideways tipover switch; not as warm as my smaller heater; no carry handle
This past week the temps dipped below to minus 20 degrees, it snowed heavily, and we lost power. We have our home set up quite well when we lose power since we have a generator that is directly wired into the home and we have a wood furnace for the heat ...
Pros: Child Resistant Power Switch, Shut Off Fuse, Thermostat Control, Automatic Turn Off if Tipped Cons: Unit becomes hot to touch, No carrying handle
I have a love/relationship with portable heaters. I love them when they are working and help to keep me warm. I hate when I cant find a good one that will do what I need one to do. A bit of background (feel free to skip down to ***) ...
Pros: Attractive, portable, adjustable thermostat, built-in safety features, cheaper than using the FURNACE! Cons: No handle
Living in the Midwest, and with gas prices through the roof this year amid predictions that heating bills could TRIPLE this winter, I've rapidly become a paranoid, anal-retentively-obsessed lunatic when it comes to our heating and electricity bills. ...
Pros: Cheap--around $25 at Target/Walmart-type stores. Controls are "child proof". Cons: Doesn't properly heat even a small room. The top gets hot. Awkward to move.
I bought this cute little guy to help heat the area by my desk.Since it has the Honeywell name, I chose it over a rather large selection of space heaters available at Target. We live in an old house and the room where my desk is located ...
Pros: Cheap. Small. Light. Simple to use. Thermostat. Powerful. Cons: Wakes you up in the night like rapid constipation. Makes air smell like constipation too.
My goodness. I had such a horrible experience with this POS, that I had to go on the net to write this review and save some poor, unsuspecting buyer from wasting time to even consider this infernal piece of plastic. I bought this at Walmart for $25 ...
Pros: Heats closed area well Cons: Somewhat loud, iffy thermostat, cord & unit get hot
I like this space heater. Compared to the ancient one-direction space heater or the convection space heater sitting in the closet at my mom's house, this one works very well. It will heat up a room quickly (in less than 15 minutes) - *if* the door is ...
Possibly Defective... Certainly a Lemon by patrat55 ,May 06 '09
Pros: Attractive Cons: Won't stay on long enough to heat any size space, No handle
I bought this heater at Wal-Mart and to Wal-Mart it shall return. I needed it to heat a small room and bought it because of the Honeywell name and it's an attractive unit. On it's lowest setting it wouldn't even heat a small closet and on it's high setting it runs for about a minute before cutting out for about 3 minutes. It repeats this cycle over and over. A hair dryer does a better job of heating a room.
Pros: cheap Cons: loud, bad thermostat control, doesn't heat all that well
I bought this heater b/c it was cheap and it looked like it would be OK. I have used it for 2 days and I will be returning it. First of all, this unit is LOUD!!! It is just not a pleasant thing to be near b/c it is so loud.
Another huge thing is that the thermostat doesn't really work. When set to about medium temperature, it will turn go from on to off for a few seconds and then turn back on, then off again. This is really annoying considering how loud the unit is.
I guess sometimes, you get what you pay for. I will be going for a higher end model.
Pros: This heater does look pretty sleek. Cons: Doesn't heat as well as other space heaters I've tried in the past.
I purchased this space heater about 2 years from Target hoping that it would be enough to keep a tiny bedroom warm during the winter. I was wrong! Honeywell claims it provides 360 degrees of heat and while this is ture, the heat that comes is extremely weak. The unit can be really loud and because I'm a light sleeper, this product just didn't work out for me.
Honeywell Mini Tower 2206 by kangaroocourt ,Dec 18 '07
Pros: Looks like a coffee maker - I like coffee. Cons: This thing is not only cheap, it's cheap and dangerous.
Got this at Target a little while ago, and it will be going back asap.
Model 2206 does not have the "directional" (180/360 degree) option - 360 heat output all the time..
Tip-over safety has 2 positions where it continues to run, while on its side. Unit has to fall over in a specific way for safety-off to work?!!
Unit thermostat is very sensitive. While it was on, it heated the room well, then in thermostat mode it would turn on for less than a second, then off, then on again then off. Over and over and over. Seems like it wanted to turn on then realized the room wasn't quite cold enough yet. Annoying.
Well, my issue is that the thermostat cuts the heat off before the room gets warm. I don't know if the thing is overheating or what. That's not the worst part. Once the thermostat turns the heater off because it "hot" enough, it goes into an "indecisive" mode where it flickers on and off at randoms intervals. Each on and off cycle couple could be 15 seconds on the off then on for less than a second, then off, then on for 2 seconds, then off and it does this all the time! Meanwhile, my lights are flicking, the heater's making stange noises, etc. It's really f***king annoying. Overall review: FAIL!
