Pros: great suction power, well-designed hand tool storage, effective filter system Cons: requires frequent cleaning (filters, brush area) and emptying (collection cup)
The time had come for a replacement! Our super-basic vacuum with one thin filter had served well, but it was ready for retirement. Living in a very dusty area (as one friend put it, you don't "dust" your furniture; here, you "dirt" your furniture) with ...
Pros: Great suction, no bag, looooong cord Cons: Small dirt chamber
Before buying our Hover WindTunnel U5750900 vacuum, we read Epinions.com, Consumer Reports and other various reviews scattered across the Web. In general it seemed to be highly rated and upon getting it we were not disappointed.
Pros: Great suction, nice complement of power tools Cons: heavy
We had a 7 year old Hoover Vacuum that just wasn't cutting it anymore. We have a 1 year old toddler so we are naturally vacuuming on an almost daily basis. We got the Windtunnel as a Christmas present.
Pros: Suction - long cord - turbine tool -
Cons: Nice-to-have features missing: bar turn-off, LONG tools hose.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This is a very viable product, for an inexpensive price tag. We purchased it 3 months ago on the advise of a neighbor having the identical model. Based on the experiences there, and limited (3 month) usage personally; the vacuum has ...
Pros: Great suction at first - feels powerful
Cons: Belts break, filters clog quickly, not good for allergies
I purchased this vacuum because of all the great reviews it was getting on how well it picks up dirt, how much money I'll save on bags, and the supposed hepa filtration. Buy it if you must but let me give you an idea of what to expect.
Pros: Incredible cleaning power. Easy to empty. Nice on-board attachments. Cons: Bit pricey. I'm actually a bit concerned I'm wearing out my carpet.
I suspect that this model I'm reviewing (Hoover WindTunnel Bagless Upright #U5750) is VERY much like the Hoover WindTunnel Upright Bagless Vacuum U5755-900 that has received over 25 reviews. The model numbers are almost identical, the pictures are the ...
Pros: Bagless, Hepa Filter Cons: Loses suction fast
My husband and I went to Wal-Mart about a year ago to purchase a new vacuum.
My very first vacuum which we purchased after we were married three years earlier was about to die. Our previous vacuum had a bag that was hard to find so we decided...
Pros: Great suctioning power, practically propels itself, handy attachments Cons: hose is a bit to short, heavier than my other vacuum
Well, just last night our 3.5 year old dirt devil started sounding and smelling funny. It had definitely got in some good use through the years so we decided not to even bother trying to fix it and decided to go ahead with a new one. I looked ...
Pros: Bagless, quiet, long power chord Cons: Messy cleanup, low suction, 'powered' hand tool
The previous vacuum cleaner (may it rest in pieces) was a Hoover TurboPower 2000 which served me faithfully for six years, two apartments and two homes. For a cheaper model ($160 then), it performed miraculously well. After moving to a large house...
Pros: Worked well when new, onboard tools Cons: Loses suction quickly, high maintenance, power nozzle useless, poor edge cleaning
I'm a fairly seasoned Hoover customer. I bought my first Hoover, a Concept One, more than 20 years ago based on a Consumer Reports review. I still have it, and at this point it probably works better than the new one. I bought the WindTunnel Bagless ...
Pros: Pulls up a lot of dirt! Nice filters. Cons: Rough on the carpets. Shoddy spring mount design.
Bought mine at Sears, brought it home tonight. Had to find my screwdriver to put it together, and a large nail to poke a hole where one should have been to get the handle on. Didn't know this would be a preview of things to come. Ran it over the carpet ...
Pros: Great attachments and storage, excellent bagless system. Cons: Filters expensive to replace and difficult to find. Cord doesn't retract itself.
We received this vacuum as a gift from my dad. The most impressive feature was the bagless technology. I didn't ever think I'd cough up the big bucks for this new era of vacuums - thank goodness for daddy. We really enjoyed this vacuum and how clean ...
Pros: A lot of tools. Cons: Pretty much everything. Horrible suction. Dirty to empty.
I bought this vacuum, hoping to replace a GE I had. When I first got it, it was great! It sucked up everything in it's path. In less than a month, however, suction diminished noticeably, even though it was cleaned out after every use. By two or three ...
I like this machine. It does a good job of picking up cat hair. It filters exhaust air very well with the HEPA filter. If you buy one, do not wash the HEPA filter with water. Do not wash it at all. Just bang it against something solid very hard. Then...
Pros: incredible suction, tools onboard Cons: heavy, messy to empty
I purchased the Hoover Windtunnel bagless because it was rated number 1 for cleaning. When I began to use it I noticed that it cleaned well, but to empty it was very messy. If you don't have time to go outside to dump the dirt out, then you have to do...
Pros: Great suction, Great power! Cons: Filter cleaning slightly difficult, but otherwise not bad
I received this vacuum for Christmas. I have a dog with medium length hair that sheds constantly, and another dog with long hair that sheds less often. I also live with two roommates. We're all college students with jobs so we're constantly in and out...
Pros: Looks Cool Cons: Heavy, bagless, Hard to move around.
Mainly I bought this vacuum for the bagless feature.
This is the worst part about this Hoover. It has a canister which holds dirt on one side and has a filter on the other.
Problem is there is a screen inbetween the two sides and the dirt...
Pros: suction extremely powerful; baseboard edging powerful; cord extra, extra, extra long; HEPA filter
Cons: Heavy. You should expect a period of "getting used to it".
We really like this machine. We've owned it for almost a year now, use it in every room of our 2100 sq. ft. two-story home, and we've never had a belt break nor have we had one single problem. We have two teenagers (with loooots of friends) and two ...
Pros: Looks Great, rinseable filters Cons: UNDEPENDABLE, heavy, NOISY, messy collection cup, plastic cover over hand tools crakes easily
This has been the biggest pain ever. The thing is heavy. The so called "powered" hand tool, what a joke. I have been through 2 plastic hand tool covers. I have been through two motors in 3 years. I have contacted Hoover again to see about what to do next. I have a 1600 sq.ft. home with 30% being Hard wood floors. I have zero pets. This vacuum should have lasted for more then 3 years (on ONE motor), especially after paying $265.00 (that was a base BX price). Retail was even more. I would not recommend this to any one!!!
What's that smell? Hoover Windtunnel U5750-900 by kpmorse ,Dec 02 '03
Pros: Good suction, no bags to deal with, canister is fairly easy to clean Cons: Smells, Canister is easy to clean BUT can get messy
I've owned 2 of this type of Hoover Windtunnel U5750-900. Suction was and is good. Unfortunately after about a year after buying the first one it began making a straining noise and began to smell like burnt rubber. Once taking it apart and inspecting the drive belt,(and replacing it, though it looked fine), and tubes to insure there was nothing caught, stuck, jammed, etc. The smell stayed and performance lacked. Prior to this problem we liked it and bought another, same model, now 3 months later, we have the same problem again, the smell of burnt rubber and a straining motor. I've unfortunately found that this is a common complaint and I'm not aware nor can find where Hoover is planning on recalling and/or fixing the problem.
Pros: NONE Cons: Very bad product, would never own another bag less vacuum cleaner, especially a Hoover.
I have had Hoover Products for years and found them very reliable. One year and 1 month ago I purchased a Hoover Wind Tunnel model U5750-900. This machine is pure junk. It wouldn't pick up properly, I took it to a authorized dealer the first we and they charged me $50 to clean it and replace a belt. Warranty??? It has now died on us, the exterior of the vacuum looks like brand new and it is, interior and working parts are shot. Hoover's advice was to take it to a authorized dealer again.
Update to this opinion: The cord on this machine is very dangerous. It is not flexible at all. I have had at least 3 breaks in the outer skin of the cord. It could cause a dangerous situation.
A nice, powerful vacume with... by daleg_dt3000 ,Feb 01 '03
A nice, powerful vacume with a few big design setbacks. The belt for the beater/brush is driven right off of the quarter-inch diameter motor shaft. This is a poor design that causes the motor shaft to easily burn through the belt whenever the brush encounters resistance or snags. The "Bagless" system is simular to a shop vac as far as the dust and debris that are scattered when attempting to dump the container. I wouldn't buy this vacume again.
