Pros: Strong Suction, that's about it. Cons: Poor attachments, flimsy hose, canister wheels to small, floorbrush and turbo nozzle don't store canister
I am disappointed in Hoover, this had to be the worst vacuum I ever owned. I kept it all of 1 week, and back to the store it went this past Saturday. I purchased through Bed, Bath & Beyond online, my local store was very helpful and ...

Pros: Looks can be deceiving - stylish exterior Cheap bags (if not HEPA) Cons: Electr. switches break Heavy & loud Falls over in staircase Clumsy power brush handle Tricky to detach hose/brush
I purchased the S3670 canister model based on positive reviews and I also liked the main features, primarily that it is a canister style. The Hoover was in my price range - I did not want to spend over $300 for a new vacuum. An online ...

A step backwards

Pros: Variable speed motor, telescoping wand, quieter, good suction (like old model), HEPA filter. Cons: Poorly designed tools; limited on board stowage. Flimsy bracket.
Bought this one since my last Hoover canister (S3639) is getting long in the tooth. My wife and I have been disappointed with this one.
Here's what's good: Variable speed motor, telescoping wand, quieter, good suction (like old model), HEPA filter.
Here's what's worse: No on board stowage for floor attachment or mini-beater brush. Hand tool is stiff and an odd shape. Crevice tool is short. Vertical stowage bracket is flimsy and broke within two weeks of purchase. To compare, our old S3639 has a different bracket which has not broken in 8 years of steady use. Cleverly, Hoover has redesigned all the attachments so they don't work with the old vacuum and vice versa.
This is progress???

Excellent value

Pros: 25 ft cord, quieter than others, adjustable suction, headlight, very stable when moving Cons: None that we've found.
We did some research and went out to buy a Dyson canister. Got to the store and the Dyson canister was not impressive enough to spend that kind of money. (Short cord, weak cord retractor, did not seem stable.)
Does a great job of cleaning the rug. I don't have an emprical way to measure cleanliness but it does a better job than the old one.
We tried the Hoover and it was more what we were looking for. Has a bag, which we prefer over bagless. HEPA bags available but also has non-HEPA bags for less money. We get to choose.
The cord retractor does not need to be hand fed like the Dyson. Press on the retractor and zip; the cord is back where it belongs.
The suction power has 4 setting so vacuuming the rug in the bathroom does not suck the rug off the floor. Just tone it down a bit and it gets clean without having to pull it out of the beater head.
All 4 wheels are castors so it can be pushed/pulled in any direction needed. Great when working in tight spots.
