Pros: Light-weight, well balanced, easy to maintain, dependable and durable
Cons: Hard to find.
Summary: I chose a Husqvarna 340 for sentimental reasons, more or less, using simple criteria derived from working in the lumberjack business twenty years ago. I'll tell you all about that in a moment, and also why I consider it to be a saw of good quality. I ... read more

Pros: Light/durable/powerful/ affordable
Cons: No designer colors/no built in modem
Summary: Pull out the choke, make sure the kill switch is disengaged, and pull the rip cord. No offense to all you music aficionados but this saw makes great music at any rpm. I wish I had a husky.wav file for you to sample.

Cons: Peice of Trash! Doesn't work! No Warranty!
Summary: I purchased a Craftsman 18" gas chainsaw in Sept. 2007, and in December, the chainsaw was no longer working. As per the warranty agreement, I sent the chainsaw off for service, and after several weeks I was told that my bill would be $150.00 for the ... read more

Pros: Powerful and quick.
Cons: Service logistics for Husqvarna/Poulan products makes Echo or Stihl the best deal.
Summary: The engine of this machine zips like none of my other ones do. It sounds like a motorcycle and goes to full rev so fast on start that it reaches its peak while you still have the pull cord in your fist. There are a couple of draw backs to the ... read more

Pros: light, inexpensive, plenty of power
Cons: need to keep the chain sharp
Summary: I bought this saw two years ago and am VERY satisfied. For the average owner, this saw will handle any tree you need cut. The biggest tree I ever cut with it was a big old maple tree that measured 35" at the butt. That was one big bad tree. At times, ... read more

Pros: Color, safty break, easy to start, dependable, low to no vibration
Cons: It didn't come with a case, it should have one.
Summary: I bought the 340 about a month ago. I was looking for a 16in bar with a good size cc for the average home owner use, and cutting firewood for the winter. I have used it for around the house doing some odd and end work and it has been nothing but ... read more
