Pros: Let your robot mow your yard. Cons: Can't mow hilly areas.
My buddy Gary called the other day all excited. He said, "Come on over. You've got to see this. You won't believe your eyes!" Well, for once I was glad I dragged myself over there. I get out and there's Gary in the back yard with some kind of remote...
Pros: Brilliant use of technology, it's quiet, unobtrusive, efficient Cons: It's expensive, you may have to strim edges of your lawn.
My wife and I have been together 22 years and in that time we've never had a garden where the grass has been below our knees for more than a few weeks every summer. We both hate gardening and yet we love having a lawn. This was fine for a long time but ...
Pros: You can Relax, it doesn't require you to do anything, other than setup Cons: You will have to do minor trimming, and it may have problems in hilly areas.
Omigod. Look, its moving on its own... spooky...
A few days ago, I for some 'odd' reason was watching the gardening show, or something of the odd. Trust me, this isin't normal for me. But then, something got me up on my feet.
...
Pros: - It works
- Does a large piece of ground without supervision Cons: - Still have to trim
- Neighbors stare
- Expensive
- Placing/Burying the wire
With nearly 1.5 acres to mow, and no time to do the 4 hours required every week, I purchased the Auto Mower as a test of the technology. I didn't really expect the thing to work very well - but it does! Set up the boundary (defines the area the mower ...
Pros: Cuts Beautifully, Very Quiet, Very Intelligent, Very COOL! Cons: If you enter the wrong code you'll be waiting 2 minutes (not an issue anymore)
It's been two weeks since I've gotten my AutoMower...all I can say is that how in the world did I manage without one! Considering how cutting edge the technology, I can't believe how simple it is to operate. For example, everything is laid out in the...
Pros: Spend more time enjoying a fresh cut lawn! Without doing a thing. Cons: Expensive.
This is a wonderful product! My auto-mower is used in my backyard, which is 9500 sq.ft. Since I started using the Auto-mower it has kept my yard cut to a perfect height. It is the best! I come home from work and can relax with a cool drink while...

The Husqvarna Automower is in its third iteration now. The current design is not the one pictured in this article, but is based on an Electrolux design. For an image of the current version, you can visit http://www.automower.com/. The current version is ...
Note that I refer to this mower in the masculine form (he) throughout the epinion.
He cuts your lawn all day. It's Husqvarna's new Auto Mower. You set him up, and he randomly mows the lawn. This which way and that he turns around when...
Pros: No yeasting grasspile,
true set-and-forget,
less weed,
low maintenance, low noise Cons: - anti theft alert not loud enough
I have a Generation 2 ( Model 2005 )Automower. After 1 year of reading specs, viewing demo's we finally decided to go for the Husqvarna (Electrolux) model. Other models are heavier, more noisy and although the automower looks a bit under-engineered ...
Pros: Paid for itself, no more allergies, no more mowing. Lawn looks great!!! Cons: Makes me want a robotic wife.
I have had the non-solar model for about two years now (220 AC), works great. I dont know why I never got one sooner, I love it. I havent mowed my lawn in over 2 years, and my lawn looks better than it ever has! There are almost no weeds in my ...
Pros: Reliable, easy to set up, quiet, tireless Cons: Expensive blades and battery
I bought my Auto mowers used, and I am using four of them to mow 2 acres. After a little work to keep them from getting stuck on the hills or the edge of flower beds, they work perfectly, and my lawn is now kept perpetually at a perfect 3.5 inches. ...
Pros: Fascinating new approach to mowing grass. Cons: Blades are very fragile and costly to replace. Warranty is a joke.
The Husqvarna Auto Mower has a major design flaw. The cutting blades are too thin and fragile. They cost about $50 to replace. The mower works fine until the blades break and then it vibrates and makes funny noises. My blades had to be replaced weekly. After a month of this I asked for a refund. The dealer refunded $1,400 out of the $2,500 I paid for the mower, an extra recharging station, installation and tax.
The Husqvarna warranty did not help the dealer. The warranty, according to Husqvarna, is 15 days from the time of purchase. I made the mistake of paying for it before I saw it. It was installed after the warranty was up. The warranty is only for exchange of other equipment made by Husqvarna anyway.
It is a great idea and quite amusing to watch. But I am afraid that it is on the bleeding edge of technology--a product that has not been refined and engineered properly for consumer use. It is a first step toward a new and better way to mow grass. Do not buy this one unless you can afford to lose. I am real sorry I bought it.
