Laptop Muscle(building!)

by caradoc Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jun 18 '03
Pros: Solid case, nice keyboard, "ThinkLight," trackpad *and* TrackPoint!
Cons: Heavy. Battery doesn't seem to last very long.
As my regular readers know, I was laid off from my regular job a couple of weeks ago. After being la ...

Another Thinkpad gem from IBM

by barkmanb , Sep 17 '02
Pros: Loaded with features, speedy performance
Cons: Keyboard light is fairly useless, no IEEE 1394 (firewire) port, config software could use work
This is my fourth IBM Thinkpad! I've gone from my first Pentium laptop (760 series) to a PentiumII 600X series, next to a PentiumIII T20, and now finally to a Pentium4M T30. All of the T30's predecessors that I've owned have been excellent machines and...

IBM ThinkPad T30 is well "Thought' out

by bergzy Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Dec 23 '02
Pros: fast, reliable and professional notebook.
Cons: slightly more expensive than other makers models with similar config.
The IBM Thinkpad is well Thought out!

I have been a notebook user since the eighties. The mid-eighties? Yep. Does anyone remember the Apple IIc? It was state of the art with a 128k (not meg) of total memory. From this, I was able to play...

Evolutionary Improvement Over T23

by syc , Jan 19 '03
Pros: Incredibly full featured, can't put much more in it
Cons: Expensive, heavy-ish
The latest and greatest Thinkpad, the T30, is undoubtedly a incremental improvement over its predecessor, the T23. Whereas the T20 series brought some big leaps over the 600 series, I'd say that the T30 improves in some subtle ways. There are now so many...

Clearing Things Up
I have read the reviews for the Thinkpad T30 on other sites, and found a few flaws. Just to clear up the nonsense, the thickness is 1.4 inches on both T30 and T23. There is...

One small step (backwards) for IBM, One GIANT leap (backwards) for ThinkPad users

by shizat63 , Feb 17 '03
Pros: Reliability. Display. Driver support. Stability. Tech Support. IBM TrackPoint is much better than other Touchpads
Cons: HORRIBLE keyboard. TrackPoint center button has been moved. P4 1.8GHz not faster than P3 1.2GHz
I'm a Sys Engineer for a major company. I love ThinkPad's. I've used them all- ThinkPad 600, 600E, 600X, T21, T23. Each one was better that the previous model. I have to say that this T30 is TERRIBLE.

1- My biggest complaint is the...
