Pros: Good, fattening mexican food Cons: The place is a dive (but that's half the fun)
The first question out of your mouth when you walk into Iguana Cantina is "So, who's your decorator?" It's sort of like frat house meets south of the border. There's a giant (fake) iguana named Iggy hanging over the hostess desk. The ceiling...
Pros: Fun atmosphere, good food, great Margaritas. Cons: Food is good--not GREAT.
Located on the Moody Street "strip" of restaurants in Waltham, Iguana Cantina is known for GREAT Margaritas and a good time! This is NOT Tex-Mex food, but more of a "cantina theme" bar and restaurant. There is a patio area out in back...
This trendy, almost famous, Waltham restaurant just ain't what it used to be. My first experience there was some years ago, shortly after the restaurant earned "Best In Boston" for its fajitas. Since then, downhill.

Pros: Casual atmosphere, consistent food Cons: crowded bar
It's not real Mexican food, but it's not bad. The menu is pretty limited, and it very rarely changes. I still eat there a couple of times a month, though, because it's a cool place to hang out.
Pros: Patio. Decor is festive. Cons: Bad to mediocre food. Noise, crowds.
I've never had anything great, and had raw chicken one time. They took it back, but I thought truly uncooked chicken merited a sincere apology at the least.
I gave it a second or third chance, and found myself saying to my wife, "you know, nothing here's ever very good" and never went back.
That said, it does have a patio (so does Yerardi's now, and Margaritas down the street) and a festive atmosphere with all the college kids.
unless my taste buds have changed... it aint what it once was. by dannyboy123321 ,Feb 20 '06
Pros: fast turn around Cons: id rather have eaten a brick
I took the family to the Iguana the other night and found myself saying i'm sorry, It's usually better than this.
I don't know whats up with the food, but it sucks.
I wont be there again. (oh the memories)
