Pros: Animation, Cute story, Nice layer of family humor, Score Cons: Voice talent not as special as in previous Pixar offerings

Good graphics, good storyline, good fun. In other words: incredible!! by captain_canada ,Nov 10 '04
Pros: Fun, funny, fabulous, fantastic. And those are just the F words Cons: After you watch it. You'll really wish you had super powers
In the past, Pixar Animation studios has created quality movies that the whole family can enjoy, such as Monsters inc. and Finding Nemo. The Incredibles is certainly no exception. This movie is Pixar 101: humour, fun, 3-d animation, and (especially in this movie) action with a capital A.
In the movie, Bob and Helen Parr (aka Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl), their son Dash, and their daughter Violet try to foil the evil plans of Syndrome: a major techno geek and a former fan of Mr. incredible.
That's all I'm saying about the plot. Hopefully it has peeked your interest enough to go see it.
In conclusion, I'll say this. If you have kids, or if you're a fan of Marvel or DC comics, or you're just looking for a good movie. Then go see The Incredibles. It can simply be described in one word: INCREDIBLE!
Love animated movies. They're so great and fun to watch. It's like getting back to your childhood, except the technology wasn't as advanced those days, but anyways. The idea of superheroes fighting evil in an animated movies is great. The sounds, voices, everything about this movie is great. A superhero family trying to live "an ordinary" life is funny and also unpredictable. You can watch this movie with a boyfriend/girlfriend, little kids, friends, anyone. It's great. I'm sure most of you will love it.
The Incredibles- Not Just For Your Kids by leesamuel ,Jun 20 '05
Pros: Incredible (ha! a pun) animation, lots of fun, good clean humor, other humor. Cons: Simple plotline
On a rainy day last month I sat on a couch with my little cousins and we watched "The Incredibles". I had been expecting some lame little kid's movie, but I was stunned to find that it was not a little kid's movie, and that it was GOOD too.
The Incredibles is rife with cynicism (Such as cracks about our legal system), good plain humor (think bad guys getting beat up in a motor vehicle), and incredible animation. The plot is a little simple, to be sure, but its still lots of fun.
So, after reading this (extremely helpful) review, go out and rent "The Incredibles". Don't just play it for your kids. WATCH it! I think it is the best Pixar animated movie of all time, and there have been some OK Pixar films.
Pros: Nice to look at, occasionally funny Cons: Weak comedy and chemistry
While there are plenty of laughs and some funny imaginative elements, The Incredibles never achieves the same level of chemistry as Monsters Inc. or Finding Nemo. It's also rather drawn out for an animated film. Holly Hunter and Nelson never really click and thier animated offspring don't quite gell either. Part of the problem was in Pixar's decision to use non-comics for the lead roles. The lack of timing, even pieced together, is obvious. Kids will probably still love this and the design work is often impressive, yet somehow the works feels flat and depressed at times.
Pros: Funny, entertaining, and has some clean adult comedy mixed with a kids cartoon. Cons: None
What a great movie for the kids and the adults. Incredibles was funny, entertaining, and even though it was long, it kept your attention the complete movie. The voices behind the characters were a perfect fit for each part played. Good clean adult comedy mixed in with a kids cartoon was very creative. What did I hate about it? Nothing, but what a shame if Disney doesn't come to terms with Pixar, because Pixar is the driving force behind Disney's successful cartoons. Incredibles is a cartoon, long time waiting for Disney, to come up with an up-to-date theme in one of their amusement parks. In summary, good job Pixar, you get an outstanding thumbs-up.
Definitely worth watching, but... by annihilation ,Nov 11 '04
Pros: Frozone, Syndrome and the scene where Helen gets to see the family's new costumes! Cons: Generally boring characters. Wished Mrs. Incredible would've been decapitated to avoid hearing her voice further.
... who was the genius who picked lisping Holly Hunter to be the voice of Helen Parr (aka Mrs. Incredible)? Five of us went to see the movie and afterwards all sort of spontaneously started talking about how distracting it was--especially because animators always try to "do" the actor's facial expressions (and mouth) on the cartoon character. The result was a very unrealistic (think Andy in the first "Toy Story" movie) mouth for one of the characters--and a main character, so you have to see it a lot. Syndrome, the bad guy, is the only one of the cast with a discernible personality. Now go see it!
Another Pixar Hit! Humor Both Adults and Children Will Enjoy. by nlucaso ,Nov 06 '04
Pros: Great story line and lots of laughs! Cons: May be slow in spots for young children.
I will be seeing this movie again. And I will be asking for the DVD for my birthday next year! "The Incredibles" movie offers a more complex storyline which differs from the formula typically used in previous Pixar animations. Adults will enjoy and identify with the real life struggles we often face with family, spouses, work, and home-life, very much like a drama. But Bird does a great job balancing that with humor both adults and kids will appreciate. With that being said, this movie is FUN! The action is thrilling, much like a James Bond-type flick without the sex. The dialog is smart, and the animation is incredible...no pun intended.
When the movie ended the whole theater gave a thunderous round of applause and a few "whoo-hoo's!"
incredibles are incredible! by meganisonfire ,Mar 22 '05
Pros: It was a very good movie meant for older teenagers in my opinion, funny, cute Cons: The mother's voice kind of irritated me. She shouldn't of had a country accent..
I recently rented this movie from blockbuster a few days ago. I wasn't interested in really watching it or purchasing it because I do not have any kids or anyone younger to enjoy it with, but when I watched it my opinion changed. The movie was more for teenagers in my opinion because of the language and innuendos the movie contained. All-in-all it was cute, with funny spoofs throughout. My favorite part had to be the ending, but if you haven't seen it I'm not going to give it away. hehhee...
The Incredibles: A Movie for kids and Adults by juliefsc ,Nov 10 '04
Pros: characterization, fast paced Cons: unnatural ending
I am going to begin by saying that I enjoy Pixar movies, and "The Incredibles" did not let me down. The characters are dynamic, and are characters that both children and adults can relate to. This, in fact, was probably the only children's film that I have gone to see in which the children were engaged and quiet for the entire movie. The effects are great, but it is truly the characters and the action packed plot that makes this a wonderful movie. This is a movie that both critics and "real" people will love. According to the IMDB website, this movie is ranked in the top 200 movies of all time. (Rated by "real" people!)
Pros: Fun and action packed - a family of superheroes Cons: We loved it so much we wish they had made a sequel
Fun! Fun! Fun! This movie is great! A family of Superheroes for us to love. We love watching this movie as much as our kids. What adult doesn't laugh at the aging superheros checking out their pot belly and big thighs. Kids can also relate to the child superheros. What kid doesn't wish he or she could just disappear in an embarrassing situation or even be a wee bit naughty and put a tack on the teachers chair without being caught. Of course when you have good guys you have to have bad guys too. You expect it but it's still great when good wins in the end. Fun and action packed. It's one of our favorites for family movie night.
The Incredibals... absolutly incredible by colton_survey ,Nov 17 '04
Pros: Amazing graphics. Great story line. Fun for all ages. Cons: Some things go a little over the top, but still in a fun way.
This is a devishly fun, yet sinical look at a world where the superhero era runs into some problems. Older age, family life, and the urning for days past plegue our aging super hear (Mr. Incredible). After an incodent involving his 'greatest fan in the world' Mr. Incredible is in for an adventure that will change his, and his familys, life forever.
Pros: Great for kids and Adults alike. A must see movie. Cons: None.
Finally! A superhero who is like the rest of us. He eats too much- so he can't fit into his suit. He gets angry sometimes-who doesn't? Of course, with PIXAR making the movie, you know it has to be excellent. My kid sister and I went to see this in the movies, and loved it. When we got done watching it, she asked me, "You are going to buy it when it comes out, aren't you?"
I had to tell her of course, because it is really good. The special powers that the children have are great. Doesn't every kid want to be invisible sometimes? And to be the fastest kid in the world-wow!
I won't spoil the story line by saying anything about the youngest child- but he is adorable, too.
The Incredibles: A Good Family Movie by qtjen19 ,Jan 04 '05
Pros: Great new concept, family movie, lots of laughs Cons: Slightly long
This was definitely not the typical movie that I would want to spend nine bucks to watch, but after the rave reviews from many of my friends, I decided I'd try it out. I was extremely surprised by the movie. I found it delightful and enjoyable, and definitely an interesting new concept. The idea of retired superheroes trying to come back and save the world was hilarious and the characters, especially Elastic Girl, was definitely a great deviation from the typical superheroes we think of. Definitely a good movie to enjoy with friends and family!
Pros: Family movie, Funny, and includes Superheroes - where can you go wrong? Cons: I didn't like that they hid their powers for so long into the movie.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I saw all the previews, and thought-"That doesn't even look appealing". My husband dragged me to go see it, and I was very pleasantly surprised. It was very funny, cute, and memorable. I would recommend this movie to anyone, including children. The plot was well thought out, and you are able to identify with the family trying to hide their secret in the beginning. (Every family has something to hide!)
Pros: Great effects, nice story Cons: Nothing. Just a great child - movie
Mr. Incredible, known super hero, his wife Helen, the famous rubber woman and their three children are forced by the Witness Protection Program to live a simple and calm life, hiding their special abilities forever. But Mr. Incredible is bored stiff as a normal person and he will seek the chance for a super mission. Result : the super hero family will fall in a well organized trap.
Incredible movie, great work by Disney by aseberle ,Dec 28 '04
Pros: Animation A+, Storyline B, Characters and their designs A+. Cons: Plot was predictable.
The Incredibles is the best Disney movie I have seen since The Lion King. My applause goes to the team of animators and writers who put this amusing movie together. This movie teams together a crew of superheroes and has them working as a team sending them out on various missions. However, the team has retired from their super jobs and are working in jobs that all of them despise. When the villain comes in, they are recalled to duty and perform much like an old machine, they get the job done, but it takes them forever because different members of the team go missing. It is like a cartoon version of the X-men and the Brady Bunch. Good movie.
Pros: Great voice talents, amazing animation, and stellar comedy Cons: Slightly long toward the end...
Another masterpiece from Pixar! Great voice talents, amazing animation, and stellar comedy. A must-see for families, couples, or just by yourself. Great story line with great humor. This movie gets a little long toward the end but is an overall great movie!
Went in with a frown, came out with an INCREDIBLE grin on my face! by brinleymooney ,Nov 23 '04
Pros: Never ever boring. Cons: Too long for little kids to sit still.
I have to admit, I was going to the movies to see The Polar Express, but when I found out it was sold out, I agreed to see The Incredibles instead. I was a little skeptical, thinking it was going to be too juvenile for me to enjoy, wrecking my Saturday afternoon. Well I was wrong- I LOVED IT!!! It was full of jokes that would pass over childrens' heads and make me laugh out loud. I recommend it to anyone, any age, and it was well worth my $10.25 and a whole Saturday afternoon!
The Incredibles not so incredible.... by pfct10nail ,Nov 15 '04
Pros: Great animation! Good story but didn't finish storyline.
Voices are great! Cons: Felt a few drag places in the movie thought it could have been much better.
I saw this movie this weekend with high hopes. I needed a good laugh... but I didn't get it with this movie. This movie is a cute movie it just could have been better. If I had taken a younger child with me I think they would have loved it. It dragged in places and I caught myself watching the girl next to text messaging her friends on a few rows ahead of us. I think the movie had a great idea, it started strong and there are a few funny parts but I think the producers/writers dropped the ball. It could have been taken to that next level... being funny. Would I go and see it again? Well let's just say I can't wait till comes out on video.. Great movie for little ones, it's ok for adults to suffer oh I mean sit through.
The Incredibles, not that incredible by ads2206 ,Dec 13 '04
Pros: Exciting at times, can keep adults entertaines as well as the children Cons: gets rather boring after a while
Well of we went to watch this animated film with our young nephew in tow, an excuse really!! The film started and we had high expectations, top class animation, good story line but long storyline. For the first 45 minutes we were intrigued but slowly and surely my mind began to wander, as did the four year old beside me. A good film but just be prepared to hear from the young ones, "is it over yet?" or "I want to go now"
