Laurell K. Hamilton - Incubus Dreams

This series, penned by Laurell K. Hamilton, started out wonderfully. The books were well written, tightly woven, very interesting stories with original, exciting characters. Around book 5 or 6, they went down to average. Books 9 and 10 were below ...

Pros: Nathanial, Writing Style.
Cons: None--unless you mind the amount of sex in this one.

This would be the 12th installment of Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series, and each book is better than the last including this one Incubus Dreams. If you haven't read any of them stop here cause talking about this book will give lots away ...

Pros: The relationships between the characters finally move forward
Cons: The unnecessary sex detail could make a sex manual blush, no plot worth mentioning

Pros: Different type of novel, things open up and change. Hot sex and metaphysical sharing.
Cons: Slow...not big on storyline or new people. Character development mostly.

I've been addicted to LKH since Guilty Pleasures, and as fans of this series know, there has been a build-up of sorts for Anita and those around her.

In this novel, it's more about character development than storyline, but near the end, that does change somewhat. You aren't left disappointed, but expectant.

I believe this novel is a catalyst for change, on many levels. Sexually, things open up. New alliances are made and an old one are re-made. Turn on a smooth cd, get a glass of bordeaux and enjoy. Don't rush this one.
