Pros: Great game, great fun, Cons: Addictive, can consume all of your time
For years my family, friends, and I played all variety of computer games. Doom, Doom 2 etc, Heretic, Hexen, Quake, Madden, Duke Nukem. You get the picture. Then we found Age of Empires. Our first reaction was, "It came from Microsoft. How good...

Pros: An oldy but a goody Cons: None
"An epic game of Empire Building and Conquest." No, I’m aren’t talking about Windows 95 by Bill, I’m talking about Microsoft’s new game that is selling like hot cakes across New Zealand…
Ordering the game was a mission, apparently...

Pros: good interface Cons: some campaigns hard to get started
In Age of Empires Gold Edition you get the original Age of Empires game and the Roman Expansion game.I recommend you play the Roman Expansion as it has what's in the Age of Empires game, but has many additional features that make the game easier to play...

Pros: Visuals, Graphics, and realistic entertainment Cons: AI could be a bit better
Lets see now, Age of Empires. This game was pretty fun. The combination of graphics, gameplay, and 'educational' value make it a pretty sweet package. First off, lets talk about the graphics, and other physical components to the game. Although,...

Pros: Excellent Multiplayer Mode, Graphics, Timelines Cons: Getting sucked into the game to the detriment of the "real world"
Microsoft's Age of Empires is one of the best real-time war strategy games I have ever played. (It's almost the best game I've ever played, but that honor goes to Starflight.) AOE allows you to choose from one of 12 different civilizations and build up...

Pros: Addictive. Easy to learn. Cons: Addictive. Sound could be better.
I bought this game with some reservations. It is a Microsoft product after all, so I was prepared for a 150+ MB installation with about 149+ MB worth of bugs. I was wrong. The game is excellent.
It has a fairly intuitive interface that is...

Pros: great game Cons: none
Ever feel like you could conquer the world? Well now you can. The catch? You have to start in the stone age, and work your way up.
This is the latest in the genre of real time strategy games, this time from Microsoft. The game is very similar to...

Pros: excellent graphics, convenient features, easy to learn Cons: computer player is tough, time-consuming games (5-10 hours typically)
AOE II is one of the best games I've ever seen! I loved AOE I, but some features about it were annoying - the graphics weren't great, you could only have 50 people in your civilization, and if your town was attacked, all your villagers were out in the...

Pros: Easy to relate to characters and actions, combat and strategy are tops Cons: None
I started playing AOE about a year ago with some coworkers. After a long stressful day we'd spend a couple hours duking it out in the game, and go home feeling refreshed.
I played Command & Conquer in college and really enjoyed it at the...

Pros: Online multi-player capability, scenario creator, real-time action. Cons: Bit of a memory hog, should have at least 32MB RAM, but would recommend at least 64MB or more. Otherwise, I would recommend shutting down other non-essential programs when running so as to not get "stuttered" mouse-movement.
So, you want to be a Master of the Universe, Ruler of the Domain and just your all around King of the World, huh? Then I highly recommend you give MicroSoft's "Age of Empires" some of your valuable time.
With it's multiple...

Pros: Fun for hours Cons: Age of Empires II is out
I that Microsoft put its resources to good use when they made this game. You'll lose yourself for hours, not being able to stop playing this addictive game. I love a good shoot-em-up as much as the next guy, but Age of Empires provides much more...

Pros: cheats, cheats, cheats Cons: cheats, cheats, cheats
overall i'd say the game is mediocre. the graphics are average, the disk space it takes up isn't too bad either. the game is fairly difficult to beat which is an advantage, but the counter is worse. CODES. you find them on the internet and use them just...

Pros: Great overall game, great multi-player, and great graphics. Cons: Stupid AI.
Age of Empires is a wonderful game that me and my friends first discovered in a little computer shop were you can play Multi-player Games with others in a room of 6 computers. We played the usual games ... Starcraft, Quake, and other such things. Then...

Pros: Very easy to learn, yet involved Cons: Not enough Campaigns
I love these types of games and so my husband bought me this game for Christmas one year. This game was very easy to pick up. I sat down and played the Tutorial Campaign and knew how to play in no time. My husband and I play together all the time, it...

Pros: multiple priorities and challenges, sense of involvement Cons: time distortion; gameplay is very time-involving
As I've played AOE for quite some time now, I've learned a few tips and tricks such as how to find the best resources, planning my structures, and so on, but one thing I have not been able to master is the amount of time I spend in one game. Sure,...
