Pros: Well designed, one-handed fold, huge visor, rear bar, shocks Cons: inaccessible & small basket, small cupholder
After extensive web research, we settled on the Inglesina Zippy (2005 model) for our stroller. Our son had outgrown his infant car seat, making the little stroller frame we had been using obsolete. That little frame had been so convenient and ...
Pros: Great canopy, Great basket, beautiful, nice ride for baby Cons: Terrible single hand steering and squeaky front wheels
I got this stroller when my son was a newborn for my quick in and out stroller. It was the 2005 1/2 model, so it came with a toddler step. I didn't need this feature, but it was included. I really wanted a stroller that was a smallish fold, had a ...
Pros: Reasonably light, easy to use, great tracking. great customer service. Cons: Past problems corrected: Slightly unwieldy when closed (but which other stroller closes this easily?
Seems Inglesina have listened to all the users/critics: This Zippy is a real winner. We live on the Upper East Side of Manhattan where all the multi-millionaires live and have seen all the strollers on the market at the upper end: This one seems to be ...
Pros: Easy to open, great safety harness, stylish, compact for the trunk Cons: Expensive (in Canada), Small basket underneath, and it sucks on Grass or rough terrain
I did quite a bit of research on strollers before my daughter was born and I loved the fact that the Zippy was a one hand open! And I still love that feature today. I live in Canada so I think the store where we got it from was WAAAY over priced ($500) ...
Pros: EASY to open and close with one hand, canopy pocket, smooth ride Cons: basket on the small size
I LOVE this stroller. I recently just got rid of my peg perego and couldn't be happier.
What I love:
SO easy to open and close (easiest one out there)
Easy to put together
child tray/bumper bar
canopy pocket (for keys, cell phone, wallet)
looks good
sturdy, good construction
My peg car seat fits in it
smooth ride
Pros: Seat size, Fabric quality, Hood, Style, Recline, Fold, Wheels Cons: Wheels squeak, no toddler step, back brakes stick out (all 2004 model). Side-access smallish basket.
I have the Zippy 2004, so some of my main issues with it are long gone. In general, we love the stroller. The seat is a throne - wide, high, comfortable. Reclines really easily. The fold is a zip. Wheels very smoothly. The hood is fabulous, because you can tilt it forward for even more protection. The fabric is gorgeous, and comes off in a snap - into the washer, washes and air-dries like new. THe basket is rather small, but I've seen worse. Side-access on the basket can be a pain at times. My wheels started squeaking at about a year, but I've heard that the newer models do not. I miss the toddler step that they have in the newer models, would come in handy occasionally. THe brakes on the 2004 stick out the back wheels, so running up a step is a pain. That's been fixed for 2005-6, though. The one-handed steering kind of disappeared once baby grows (maybe a year?) but it was great while it lasted. The stroller is heavy, so I wouldn't recommend it for heavy travelling. But it folds really nicely and is decently compact. Great all-in-one stroller!
disappointed with the short harness strap by h5000us ,Jan 18 '06
Pros: one handed fold, stores upright (takes up less room) Cons: short harness strap, small basket, squeaky wheels
After reading all the rave reviews and testing in store, I purchase a Zippy 2005 on 4/2005. I was surprised after 7 months, the harness strap was too short for my 15 months old son (32"). I contacted both the store and Inglesina's customer service and was informed that they've received many complaints for the short harness strap but nothing can be done and no future plans of longer straps for the Zippy.
Since then I've met someone whose Zippy 2004/5's wheel fell off after about 9 months of use on NYC sidewalk.
Had I know about these problems, I would not purchase a Zippy but go with the Pliko 3 instead.
