This motherboard is really a step up from the original Intel D850MVL, in that it really does add some very enhanced features that are desirable for desktop applications. Among them are support for the new PC 1066 RDRAM modules from Samsung, USB 2.0 options, support for processors at 3.0 GHZ or higher, Hyperthreading technology, Fan speed configuration settings via the BIOS, 533 MHZ FSB, on board LAN and Audio for some users. The best. Intel, always a cut above, always one step ahead.

Intel supplied usb2 drivers fail install if win XP service pack 1 is installed, Intel claims ignorance. Front panel usb connector not properly documented and hookup is a dangerous guess risking mobo damage.
