Pros: Quicken does all the basics and more. It does what I need it to. Cons: I call it the Quicken Tax... you are pushed to upgrade every 3 years.
I started using Quicken software in 1995. 13 years later I am upgrading for the 4th time. This was the most expensive upgrade yet, and had the fewest 'cool, new' features in my opinion. I was forced into the upgrade because Quicken announced that my ...

Pros: Good check program that makes finances easier. Cons: Must upgrade. Glitches: Invoicing, Billminder. Stopped importing Paypal Transactions (no error messages).

Pros: NOT A SINGLE GOOD THING Cons: Headaches over every aspect. Trying futilely to resolve for two months.
It freezes on downloads, doesn't save options on home page, and support is useless. Forums, online chat, phone help didn't work.

Locked Up and Out of Quicken!
by redraider1965 ,Jul 01 '09
Pros: Easy to use if it stays up. Supported by most banks and investment houses. Cons: Will crash your computer. Buggiest software ever.
I have been using Quicken as my primary "checkbook" software and manager of our investments for 10 years or so. Not until I installed 2008 Quicken was I ever "locked out" of my computer by Intuit software. Now, even after reinstalling the program and all updates numerous times, the product still crashes and locks down everything about once ever three times I use it. Bad news.
