Pros: Comfortable,Affordable sleep.Easy to setup. Cons: Warranty 5yrs...Don't know about longterm durability?
I was looking at getting a new mattress or a select comfort air bed when I came upon a web site offering the ISOTONIC MEMORY FOAM MATTRESS PAD. I was a little skeptical but it had a 30 day return policy so I decided to give it a try. I bought the queen...
Pros: Great Product made of superior materials, brand recognition makes it easy to price shop. Cons: Too Expensive-many variations out there. Shop around. Feel it.
"Isotonic" is one brand name of a mattress pad products made of the fiber "polyeurethane" which is fashioned into a product commonly called "viscoelastic foam", "memory foam", visco foam", etc.
Pros: Exceptional comfort and support; light weight; easy set up with quilted cover Cons: New "plastic" odor must be aired out thoroughly
Until recently I slept poorly on an ancient queen-size futon; even a feather bed on top could not alter the essential fact that the mattress was way past its serviceable life and hardly better than sleeping on the floor. But I could not get up the...
Pros: Comfortable in the beginning Cons: doesn't last
I researched all the different options for getting a foam pad for our bed. I spent a couple weeks learning about foam density, different thicknesses, manufacturers..... I settled on the Isotonic mattress topper from absolutecomfortonsale.com, a queen...
Not flimsy; must air out! by crbluvsmjd ,Sep 03 '08
Pros: Thick, comfortable, seemingly durable, noticable difference in comfort Cons: Smell (at first), slightly smaller than mattress so leaves a gap at edges.
I intended to buy a cheaper foam topper but upon feeling the comparison once at the store, I realized the cheaper ($50 range) would make no significant difference in the comfort of my older, hard mattress. This is worth the extra money because you can actually feel it underneath you. I have only had it for a couple weeks, but have slept noticably better. It also helps me from being disturbed when my sleeping partner moves around. NOTE: You must plan to air it out for a couple days. It has a very strong smell which will eventually go away. I sprayed mine with Lysol and propped it in front of a fan for three days before the scent was diminished enough to put it on my bed. I was afraid I would have to return it because of the smell, but it did go away.
Pros: Extremely comfortable. Great service. Cons: Short life
I purchased an Isotonic Mattress pad from Absolute Comfort and fell in love. Sleeping on it was wonderful. I was a little surprised to find that after less than a year the pad had compressed due to body impressions. I called Absolute Comfort and explained that I did not have a receipt but that the pad had body impressions. They were very helpful and referred me to a number where they could look up my purchase. I called the number and they faxed me a copy of my receipt. I called Carpenter and they gave me an RNA number to return the pad. I returned it and received a new pad in about 2 weeks. I have been very pleased with the product although I expect that I will need to return it every year or two for replacement.
initially superb but not durable by wisetoscreen ,Dec 08 '06
Pros: great support/comfort Cons: durability lacking; limited "lifetime"
My experience of 7+ years using the isotonic mattress pad is that it is a great product but with a limited "lifetime". The support and comfort it provides are extraordinary. However, it has lost it's elasticity, maintaining permanent indentations on both sides, since I have rotated and flipped it routinely. This probably started after about six years of use and is now at a point of "negative return", such that I will try another alternative this time. Having also purchased these for my college student kids to use on their dorm beds, I would also add a very positive comment about the comfort that this pad adds in that setting. It also meets fire safety standards that the "egg carton" type pads do not.
Pros: Soft pretty white cheap Cons: Stinks Will damage your immune system You will not sleep better knowing your breating toxic drek.
It says Hypo-Allergenic and I can attest this is absolutly NOT TRUE. The stink is severe and toxic. Please do not use this on your kids...There's a little note that rides along with the packaging - in fine print - it says to air it out for 8 hours or more before use to lesson the "Newness Smell" -serioiusly? Poly foam does not have a smell - I've worked with it for years and it is nativly scentless. This is either fire-retardant or more likely, what others are calling a fish smell only points to one thing: Latex. And not just latex but rotten latex - past it's prime by a long way and that stuff can stink to hell...thus the need to cover it with perfume.
fish-smelling piece of crap by mikebwntssleep ,Dec 30 '08
Pros: imaginary Cons: smells like dead fish, cheap, wrong size, not thick enough
I bought a full-size isotonic foam mattress pad from Bed, Bath, and Beyond for $150. It smells like a dead fish, and looks like a $5 piece of crap that you'd find in an alleyway. very cheap looking, and not even close to the size of my mattress. DO NOT kid yourself into thinking this might be ok, even though there is a money-back guarantee at BBB. Just get a different one.
