Pros: Deep Base
Seperation of sounds is nice
Price is good Cons: can seem a bit 'airy' with the highs, but that's being picky.
This speaker sounds awesome. I reviewed lots of speakers, and this one really delivers powerful, and accurate sound. I blindfolded my girlfriend and made her compare these to the Bose 301's. She picked these on every type of music.
The base holds...
Pros: Good looks, great sound, JBL quality, Price Cons: None yet
We paired these speakers with the JBL S-Center and a Denon 1803 receiver to give us a really good front stage experience. The 3/4" Titanium laminate tweeter provides a good sounding high frequency. The 4" midrange and 8" woofer handle their ranges with...
My Cerwin-Vegas from the 1980's finally blew up while watching Lord of the Rings on DVD. I knew I needed a new pair of speakers fast! I did some checking and found great reviews across the board for the N38. I happened to spot them on sale for just $99...
very nice sound highs are lowes are nice. unstable on carpet. Needed to build a stand. advise if you are going to buy this speaker get a stand. You will have to get or build one that does'nt leave the ground like a 12x12 or what I did was get a concrete block and rap the sides with carpet so It looks like the carpet raised up.
These speakers replaced a pair... by skyehawke_dt3000 ,Aug 26 '02
These speakers replaced a pair of Yamaha 2 way bookshelfs as my primary front speakers. They sound awesome. As for the poor footprint design, I merely slipped a 12 in square sheet of wood under each one while I built two 13 inch tall stands for them. (Had to wring out my new Ryobi cordless power tool set, yanno) The sheet of wood was more than adequate in stabilizing these speakers, however I wished to raise them up a bit, hence the stands. There are dozens of simple inexpensive solutions to the small footprint inconvenience. This is the only reason I did not rate them 5 Stars. When you consider I paid $99.00 apeice for them with free shipping at BUY.COM, and the footprint is virtually the only difference between the N-38 and the new N-38II($199.00 each at BestBuy). I am totally satisfied.
