Pros: portable, good sound Cons: good sound, not GREAT sound
For about a year now I have had the 60Gb iPod Video. What I have not had is really any means to play the music from it out loud. It hasnt been a huge deal because I have all kinds of cd players and stereos all over the place, but at the same time ...
Pros: Can fill a small room with sound, fairly clear, remote Cons: lacks bass response, not a portable speaker for it's size, heavy unit
I only bought the JBL OnStage II speakers because I got a fantastic price on them. I paid only $55 which includes the sales tax and the shipping and handling! Considering that the average price of these speakers tend to be over $100, I got them for a ...
Pros: Great sound, small size, comes with remote control. Cons: No sleep function.
I was looking for speakers for my Nano, to use in the bedroom. I tried another product, but the sound quality was poor. I finally settled on the JBL On Stage II speaker system. Sound Quality The sound quality of the On Stage II is very good, ...
Pros: The On Stage II has excellent sound and a great remote too. Cons: The lack of deep base might not satisfy some listeners.
These speakers are designed to work with the Apple Ipod. I listened to them in the Apple store and decided that they were just what I needed for my Ipod Nano at work. The list price at the store was $169 and I decided to see if I could find a better ...
Pros: Easy to use, very light. Cons: Can not use the Bass Booster EQ or else speakers will crackle.
I received this as a Christmas Gift in 2005 for my 30 GB iPod video. Features: I just wanted to mention that you can plug in another audio source, and another iPod cable (computer cable) in the back of the unit Before Using: Make sure you ...

Pros: They don't charge a monthly fee. Cons: The worst customer service on the planet.
This company has the WORST customer service of any professional photography order fulfillment service in the world. I have placed dozens, really dozens of calls to them to resolve problems and they NEVER returned my calls.
Now they don't even take messages. If you call during the day you can count on at least an hour wait on hold!
They never return email inquiries with anything other than please call.
IF YOU HAVE A VERY HIGH TOLERANCE FOR PAIN USE THEM, IF NOT STEER CLEAR.
nice product but no support by thagsays ,Jan 30 '07
Pros: Nice sound nicely made Cons: no product support, "nobody's home"
I bought the "Onstage II" because I had bought the original "Onstage" for my daughter's Ipod Mini about 18 months ago. They have performed well for her. I have an Ipod Nano 2'nd generation. after 2 attempts to get an adapter for my Nano from JBL I gave up! they kept sending me the wrong adapters. I waited 14 days and twice I received the the same wrong parts. I retuned it...no product support........too bad
Mine works and sounds great. by jerry_kaiser ,Apr 16 '06
Pros: Sound quality for the price, durability, remote. Cons: None at this point
We bought this unit to provide room-filling sound for Powerpoint presentations...then bought an iPod to go along with it. Perhaps we got a newer unit, but we have a remote, which works fine, and, thusfar, the iPod connection isn't problematic. compared with others (at Circuit City) this was definitely the best bang for the buck.
The quality of sound, given the size and price, is terrific. Bass is adequate for such a small unit, and it's rugged enough to transport easily.
I really like this speaker system! by lindawing ,Jun 05 '07
Pros: Sound is not bad and easy to use and charge my Ipod before using. Cons: A little pricey. Not terribly portible (at least not in a little Ipod case!)
Well you might not be able to haul it everywhere, but I was looking for a simple speaker system for my Ipod mini a couple of years ago. I use it up in my bedroom and I was really impressed with the sound that came out of it for the size. I got it on sale, so it cost me under $100 (it was more at the time)and I have been pleased. I guess I'm not as picky about the bass (someone complained)and such, but I have not been sorry I bought it. In fact, I even figured out a way to use it with my new Inno, as that has been tricky to get an outside speaker system to it (mostly use headphones with it.)So I have found multipurpose use for this little guy. These days there are quite a few more options for the Ipods and speakers (like the clock radio and such) but I won't be purchasing anything new for some time down the road as this has done the trick.
Pros: Small size, big sound Cons: Tinny sound at high volume
I've used this a lot. It cranks pretty well for its size, but can get a tinny sound when it is turned up loud. If you like your rock music loud, you may want bigger speakers that can handle it. It's easy to transport between my bedroom and laundry room. I like the volume controls too - one touch, very easy.
Pros: Sound. Cons: Had to use a cord. No battery option. Broke quickly.
The JBL On Stage 11 sounded great to me. I tend to enjoy more treble than bass. I used mine about once a week and was very careful with it. It developed a problem where it could only play very low (almost inaudible) or very high (very distorted). I only owned it for about a year.
Listening the Internet radio. by bathtub ,May 17 '07
Pros: Free. Become a paying member and avoid listening to commercials. Large variety of music stations. Cons: Occasionally loose Internet connection. Sound bites not consistently updated.
I'm a listener and fan of Internet radio. For the last year I've enjoyed hearing a selection of songs that can't be heard on traditional radio stations. And it's free, unless you want to become a paying member and avoid listening to commercials. For the past 6 months I've been hearing commercials to save these stations from drastically increased royalty rates not applicable to AM/FM or Satellite radio if the ruling is allowed to go into effect on July 15, 2007 will be retroactive to Jan 1, 2006. What exactly does that mean? Is this a special interest law to get rid of this new way to listen to music? Who passed this ruling and why don't I hear anything about it, except on Internet radio? I realize I don't have the whole picture, but, if because of this ruling these stations have to shut down, well, I support them and the best variety of music I've listened too in a long time.
Pros: None Cons: Cannot play music from iPod Nanos. Volume is extremely low.
My fiance and I just bought one of these today and went straight back to the store to return it. First of all, the box is misleading. It says that it's compatible with iPod Nanos. Yes, you can dock your Nano and recharge it, but you can't play music from it (design-wise there's no physical way to connect a Nano to the speakers). Then, when we hooked up my 20G iPod, the volume was so low that our regular conversation-level voices could easily drown it out at its maximum volume. Once again, the word "loud" on the box was extremely misleading. We had planned on using it for our New Year's Eve party, but no one would ever hear it.
Don't waste your money on this product, it's not worth it. I've never felt so swindled.
