Pros: Superb accuracy and clarity, can handle alot more power if it is clean. Cons: Not a single one. These are JL's folks.
Ever since high school I have wanted a good soundsystem in my car, my friend introduced me to JL Audio when he bought a 12" W1 series a number of years back. He was one of those sorts who was never content with what he had and changed his sound system ...
For the last 3 years I have been through more sub woofers than I can even remember. I always get the extended warranty(due to speakers are subjected to so much abuse),you never know how long one will last. I had a kicker Solabaric 12 in a custom box, 6 ...
Pros: Great for the money, easy to power, strong bass Cons: Too boomy for good sound quality
I just bought one 10W0 the other day from a friend who had it for two months. It's contained in a JL Audio Powerwedge box and powered by a JL Audio 300/2 amp. About a year ago I owned a 10W3v2 powered by the same amp. Upon connect my W0, I first ...
these subs hit and i mean they hit. though this is not for my taste i did enjoy the pounding and the inevitable ringing in my ears that followed. i had these in my firebird and at times it was hard to breathe. these subs dont require much space or power...
Pros: Clear sound and smooth bass Cons: just not quite up there on the competition sound
I bought the JL power wedge with 2 10' JL W0's for my Firebird. This is a great item if you have very little space but want a big sound. The speakers were powered with a Kenwood 600 watt amp and produced enough sound to keep me satisfied. If you are into...
Great quality for price by notyourspoon ,May 07 '06
Pros: Great sound, affordable, amazing quality Cons: Power hungry
These were the very first pair of subwoofers I put in my car. I was blown away by the quality of these speakers. I was interested in purchasing subwoofers and I wanted JL Audio but I figured they'd be too expensive for my budget. It turned out that it was $200 for two 10" W0's in a JL Audio sealed enclosure. I decided to run them from a pioneer GM-5100T. I realized that they weren't getting the power they needed so they were missing the very deep tones. I opted for the JL Audio E1400D amp and couldn't believe the differnce. These subs kick even more than before and sound even crisper than day one when I bought them. Beware- JL is notorious for being power hungry. Another reason that I love these subs is that they look sleek with the black face with the JL logo. Unlike the other cheaper brands that have flashy colors and odd shapes the JL's are inconspicuous. I love these subs and will stick with JL for a very long time.
Pros: Best thing you can buy for the quality and price Cons: ???
I recently had 2 JL 8" subs which I blew from underpowering them. This time I boosted up the power 3x and got a Power Acoustik 520 Gothic series amp. It handles plenty power to push the 2 10w0-8's (bridged at 4ohms) I bought. They are in a custom box in my truck and can outhit 2 rockford 10s with the same amp! Very crisp and clean... and the thump is outstanding
Pros: Works great in a hatch!! Cons: Haven't found one yet.
This sub will work magic if you have the right size box and most importantly the RIGHT amp pushing it!! Look in to the Lanzar comp amp line and you'll be amazed that the sound that comes out of this little sub!!!
