This stereo is the best stereo I have ever owned. Definitely worth the price. Nice, clear music along with the optional bass. Sometimes I'm thankful for the 'Subwoofer Level' Buttons. I can give myself a headache, then turn the bass down and still listen to music. :)

This mini system is the best thing that JVC has came out with for a while.i think that they need to get the system to be a little bit louder and a little more bass. The system is overall very good and i would recomend it to anyone that wants to get a sweet system.I think that if i made the system then i would have had the sound quality be awesome and have the bass be awesome too.

I think this Mini System is pretty cool but it should have a few more things : Mp3 and the system should not be so huge, but the bass and mids are good but that throws off the high frequencys(treble) it is a good make because JVC makes the best mini systems(in my opinion)I give this a 3/5 for the sweet display.

I upgraded to this system because the SONY mini system i bought first wuz weak (150 Watts). After bringing this bad boy home i was very impreesed with the bass The subwoofers are really amazing (two 6-inch with 130 watt's each) very nice!! makes my walls vibrate. However after owning it for about 6 months I now wish to buy the HX-Z3 because honestly two 8-inch woofers with 160-watts each would be incredible to listen too i think. Anyways the HX-Z1 (the little brother of the HX-Z3) does pack a punch I would recommend it if you can't afford the HX-Z3.

I've owned several mini-systems in recent years, both JVC and AIWA, and this is by far the best yet! Had it less than a week, so far, and LOVE it! Set up is as easy as matching color-coded speaker wires to the appropriate places on the back of the unit...Literally took me about two minutes to set this system up. Clock/Timers are equally a snap to set. As simple as turning a dial and pressing a button. The remote could be a bit larger. Still, it is extremely easy to use. Powerful system lot's of "oomph"! Chrystal clear sound all the way up to almost the highest volume. The performance of this system was everything I expected it would be, and more! If you like full, clear, "bright" sound, give this unit a listen. I highly recommend it!

i got this system for christmas and let me tell you, it POUNDS ! the bass is loud clear and has plenty of "oomph" to shake the walls in my house. the mids and highs are crystal clear and dont get distorted until about 27/30 volume, and even then its very minimal distortion. although there is one caveat with the sound. the speakers dont seem to sound full untill about 10-13 volume, which can be expected with 350 watts of power. this system is built to go loud and should be played loud! It has a very large display which makes it simple to see whats playing and what settings you have turned on and off. This system isnt without its faults though. The large display is very bright and cant seem to be turned off, so while trying to flal asleep to music your room is being lit up with bright red and blue lights. overall this system is great.
