JVC USB port a brilliant idea

by scobb99 , Feb 11 '07
Pros: Plays iPod, USB keys, SD card, Memory sticks, MP3 CDs with ease.
Cons: Clock does not stay on. Small buttons for some functions.
I got the JVC KD-G720 installed in my 2003 Jeep Laredo and am enjoying it immensely. On long trips I plug in my iPod (if you get the connection kit the iPod connector goes to the glove box--just open the glove box, plug in your iPod and close it up--the ...

Great little entry level radio

by mferris , Nov 12 '06
Pros: Good sound, easy to use, brilliant display, versatile, a great little unit.
Cons: None that I found.

Not so ready
by whiner ,Jul 06 '06
Pros: Good sound, visuals, clean power
Cons: NOT iPod ready. NOT convenient for MP3 players. DON'T buy for these features.
I was excited to find a stereo with a USB right on the face. I asked my (Fry's) salesperson if I could plug my iPod directly in rather than installing the optional KS-PD100 iPod Adapter - he said "sure." He was right, to a point. You can plug direct, but can't control the iPod at all - not with its own controls or with the head unit (which I knew). It only plays in random order, but the SAME random order every time. So I installed the converter. I have 4700 songs on my iPod. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to scroll through them using arrow buttons that don't fast advance if held down. We're talking one push, one item. The display can't show enough of the song title, artist, or whatever it's trying to show to make any sense. I'm sorely disappointed.
