Does its Job well, and with class.

by k_lundquist , Nov 26 '02
Pros: Great look, motorized/detachable faceplate, quick MP3 playback, front auxilary input, 3 preouts, million features
Cons: cheezy remote, not a fan of the turn volume knob
After being in the market for MP3 head units for quite sometime, and drooling over the JVC digifine series for almost a year, they have finally come down to a reasonable price range and now is the best time to get one. (Online that is.) Check out...

a great buy

by jobberman , Nov 27 '02
Pros: great sound, indestructible, sleek looking, nice screen & face, low cost
Cons: no MP3 search, missing a minor feature or two, awkward power-off
After doing extensive research on MP3 receivers, I decided to go with the SH-707. My main goal was to replace my stock CD player with an MP3 CD player of quality. I also have other audio equipment by JVC that I just love.

The SH-707 handles...

Don't settle for a lesser MP3 player.

by guimauve_usa , Aug 18 '02
Pros: Compatibility. 7 Band EQ. In Between track times. Elegant Look.
Cons: 2 Volt pre-outs. No MP3 Search. Not very powerful internal amp.
The KD-SH707 is a player on a mission, to provide the best MP3 playback out there. This player has a sister product, the KD-SH909 which offers slightly upgraded features. The KD-SH707 gives you 2 volt pre-outs, the KD-SH909 gives you 4 volt pre-outs....

JVC KD-SH707 a winner.

by grahamrichter , Aug 19 '02
Pros: Great sound, impressive features, flawless MP3 playback, beautiful look.
Cons: Display a touch dim.
I've been shopping around for a MP3 player for my car for a couple of months now. The 707 fulfilled each one of my requirements, in order:

1) Sound quality - This was really impressive, I'm still using the stock 6 inch speakers that came with...

Great deal and product--consider it!

by rufustel , Dec 18 '02
Pros: Great value: high-end features at a mid-price. And, cool!
Cons: Buttons and button labels could be bigger.
I agree with all the other comments about this product. All in all, it has a number of great features and options, well matching higher end (and much more expensive) products, but at a mid-price. In addition to good sound and expensive-looking silver...

Great high end sounding head unit

by cat_stack , Aug 24 '02
Pros: Great look, stellar sound, good built in amp
Cons: haven't found any yet
I researched this before I bought it and am so glad I decided on this one and not something like the Kenwood KDC-MPV619 which is priced in the same range, claims to have the same features, but really, really sucks. The Kenwood actually got put in my car...

Great unit, one of the best!
by themblues ,May 01 '07
Pros: Everything (but I would get the KD-SH909 for the extra input)
Cons: None.
When I got this unit I wanted motorized face, 1/8" jack for my Minidisc, (yes this unit is THAT old) and a good EQ. I didn't even know I would need a separate sub out until the guy told me I needed a separate amp for my sub. (it was going in a Nakamichi-based 5-channel Lexus with it's own propritary amp.) So I hook the 4 corners up to the head unit and bought a 200 watt amp for the sub. WoW! I had NEVER heard a car stereo sound so good. This beat the Nak head unit and changer by a mile! Sound was unbelievebly crystal clear and the amount of bass (even with a sub-standard subwoofer) was excellent! When I got my new car (another Lexus) I put in a KD-SH9750 (same unit, slightly better features and design - but no input jack on the front) along with a JL Audio sub (Free-air,) MB Quart components, and an Alpine 5-channel amp. Just better and better! And to the reviewer that said "no DVD," in 'cons,' maybe you should not compare it to models 5 years newer, huh?

KDSH707 Review
by dgibbie ,Apr 30 '06
Pros: MP3, 3 RCA outputs
Cons: Non DVD
I bought this deck years ago and am happy to see that it actually increased in value by 40 dollars. That's a good product. I bought this deck from etronics back in 2002 for $220 and now it sells refurbished or new for $260. I work at ABC Warehouse and sell the newest JVC decks and mine looks nicer and functions nicer than everything we have on our display wall. There is a subwoofer control with the turn of a knob you can adjust from 1-12 which allows you to turn up and down the level of your amp. It basically acts as a remote knob for your amp. I was a little worried about the mechanical aspect of the flip down face to put a cd in, but even after years of use it is still working like the day I bought it. Even after four years I wouldn't trade this deck for any of the newer ones except maybe JVC's new KD-AVX2 DVD/CD deck with a 3.5" LCD built into the face; However, that deck lists around $649.

Great MP3 Unit
by sunthief ,Nov 01 '03
Pros: Everything.
Cons: I can't think of one.
This is the best head unit I've ever used. Very sleek and elegant display. The motorized face is great and very burly. I can't imagine it ever breaking. Descent sound quality, load, about as good as a sony or a kenwood.
