First recorder.
by lewdwig ,Jan 04 '04
Pros: Clear directions. Cons: Small knobs, labels and display are hard for us "older" people to see.
Bought this as a gift for my wife, I got the single CD player, as this would be the least complicated option for my wife and this JVC model was the only single CD player available locally. The first one had to be returned with a problem with the on/off switch - couldn't be turned on by the button on the unit or the remote. The replacement unit plays well and the first experiment taping(er, recording) an entire CR to a CD-R was successful. Recording portions of CD's to a CD-R has been challenging but successful, the directions seem to be well written. Haven't tried recording via the receiver or tape deck or turntable yet.
Love- directions are clearly written.
Hate- confusion in selecting the correct CD-R, bought a pack of ten from Radio Shack that don't work with this machine even though they say "music" in the descriptions on the package, got a pack of ten SONY's that work fine...still don't know if the same problems exist with CD-RW's.
