Pros: Excellent, crisp picture! Great capability for the price range. Cons: Subtitle quirk, sometimes smart mode is not so smart
A progressive scan DVD player is practically a requirement when one also owns a big screen TV. We purchased the JVC XV-SA75GD in Oct. 2001 to fulfill this need. The picture on this DVD player will knock your socks off!

What A Steal
by bshabaz ,Jan 28 '05
Pros: DVD Audio Quality surpasses Sony E.S. SACD quality.DVD movies are wonderfully displayed. Cons: Too inexpensive...Audiophiles won't take it serious.
JVC must have made a mistake, My JVC blows away my Sony E.S. SACD player with Benchmark Dac-1 for Redbook listening. The DVD Audio is at a completely different level above SACD! This XV-SA75 at under $100 is truly a steal for the DVD Audio quality alone! It is also a truly exceptional DVD player as well as Redbook CD player. Two thumbs up!

Hands-Down THE BEST DVD Player ever
by marioandyoshi ,May 13 '06
Pros: Fast boot time; Many inputs; GREAT QUALITY ZOOM FEATURE; Excellent, intuitive remote control. Cons: Many audio outputs-- Without speaker setup, can cause missed audio (or moving cords for someDVDs).
I've never seen a DVD player with as many features as this model. Unfortunately, I don't believe this is still available in stores. If you can still find one, I highly recommend it, as it has better Zoom, Angle, Subtitle, and Audio options than most NEW models. Plus it's the only gold player I've ever seen, and has a matching VCR you can get as well.
