Pros: Good solid quality...John Deere name and reputation Cons: We've had a few carborater problems
We live in the wilderness. For years we have struggled with lawn maintentance using hand mowers, lawn services and weed control Finally, we bought a riding lawn mower...well...tractor...to mow the lawn. We decided on John Deere because of the name. ...
Pros: Great running tractor. Deck attachment and removal well thought out. Good emergency features. Cons: Ridiculous PLASTIC oil drain tube/cap. Oil filter removal nightmare.MORE plastic. Accessories big $$.
Well, I always wanted to own a John Deere tractor. Yeh, I know, it's a lot of money for a tractor, but I wanted a piece of Americana. I always had this view of becoming part of the Middle America John Deere Family. Here's my tale: I had the choice of a ...
Pros: Attachments install and remove easily. Cutting height very precise, adjustable in 1/4in. increments.
Cons: Maximum cutting height setting 3.5", need higher for tall lawns. Small gas tank 2.75gal.
Wow what a machine! I just took delivery of a GT235 with a 42 inch snow thrower and a 48 inch mowing deck. The cost was $7000 with all the accessories before discounts, $5279 for just the tractor. After a generous trade-in the final cost was $5025 ...
Pros: Quality, power, manueverability, economy, comfort, noise. Cons: Lack of a gas gauge (though it has the see thru tank)
We bought our GT235 2 years ago. It was about $1000 more than the equivalently sized Craftsman and about the same price as all the other good brands such as Cub, Allis, and so on. So far this John Deere has been an awesome machine. It always starts ...
Pros: Reliable, comfortable and easy to use. Cons: None yet.
I have been using an older Dixon ZTR (cone drive) for over 3 years to mow my 2-plus acres. It has been nickel-and-diming me to death. So when it went into the shop before even getting 2 complete mowings this spring I knew it was time to look at something...
Pros: Available 54" Mulching ready deck, hydrostat, speed, mowing quality, Usable headlights Cons: Gas Hog, Rough ride on patchy fescue lawns, Blade engauge button on reverse.
Hey,
If your looking for a mower to cut under 2 acres of grass by a LT, or STX series lawn mower. My self, I have 3.2 acres to mow and I shopped all around for a mower that would get the job done right , quickly and hold up for quite some time. And...
Pros: Nice mower--when it actually runs. Cons: After good maintenance a rod breaks and destroys the engine--the tractor was 30 months old.
We purchased this tractor on July 27, 1999, within a few days it was back to the dealer for electrical problems, within a few months we'd been through two batteries. It was back in the shop in April 2001 for additional air intake problems. Now, six...
Pros: Top quality mower that does a top quality job. Cons: Must pull back on electronic blade engagement button in order to cut in reverse.
In April 2001 I purchased a GT 235 to use in my lawn maintenance business. I have not regretted the decision one minute. The GT 235 is an outstanding mower!
It is relatively quiet, it cuts very smooth, and it is the most dependable mower I...
Pros: Great features, great mower. Simply the best. Cons: None that I've found.
I've owned multiple push and riding mowers through the years, and finally anted up the cost and bought the GT235. This is the best lawn tractor/mower that I've ever owned. It will do everything from aerating/seeding to pulling a trailer of logs through...
Pros: The John Deere Name speaks for itself. Cons: None
I had a Snapper YT12 for 11 years and it worked great for 9 of those 11 years then it started to nickle and dime me and then it started to $20.00 and $150.00 me and I knew I had to make a change and I had to do it quick. I shopped like everyone else the...
Pros: aluminum and stainless steel, sturdy as a rock and looks great, keeps off weather Cons: Nothing yet
I agree great product, after reading reviews here I finally broke down and bought an L-130 , I love it but the top I bought for it sucks big time, I grazed a tree branch and off it came, too flimsy. I did some searching and found this great alum top, I bought one and thought it was going to be a joke at the price, WOW what a find, this is great, I hit the same pine tree bough with it and just pushed it aside, this is the best purchase for my John Deere, now I like it even more, you can check it out here www.wrightstuff.net.
Pros: Handles moist grass pretty with the Power Flow Cons: The price varied widely from dealer to dealer; shop around. Power Flow a must! Cost
I only bought it 3 months ago but so far it seems to be solid with little vibration. I would be reluctant to go with the L Series with the amount I mow plus the GT235 allows me to use the rototiller and Power Flow bagging system. The fit is as good as other brands but should be much better for the price. I don't think for the money it is any better than other good brands with a Kohler or good engine. I do like the Kawasaki engine. I'm adding this during the edit because I didn't see room after. I paid $690.99 plus tax for the power flow system. Next I plan to add a rototiller if this proves to be as good as I hope in the long run. Right now I can get the tiller for $1199.99+tax from my dealer.
Pros: This tractor is durable and very maintenance friendly. Mulching works great! Cons: Nothing!
I have had my tractor for 3 years and it has performed exceptionally well! The tractor is very easy to perform maintenance on, and easy to take apart. The deck can be removed quickly for cleaning. The grease fittings are all in easy locations for proper lubrication. This tractor is an excellent performer and worth every penny!
