Pros: cuts evenly, comfortable position for riding. Cons: A little on the expensive side, for the features. BELT breakage
Several years ago, I was living at home with my parent's, enjoying the good life, as they say. No bills, free food, college tuition paid every quarter as if by magic. Being the stand up guy that I am, I offer to do some small chores around the house ...
I am a mechanic by trade. Specifically, a small engine mechanic- and I bought a John Deere for some very specific reasons. 1. It is sold and serviced by an excellent dealer network. Not like those el-cheapo mowers. 2. It is built very ...
Pros: Durability, Styling, Quality, Appearance Cons: Engine is louder than some.
For under $2000, the John Deere LT133 is clearly the best value in it's category. From the ground up, the components that go into this machine are vastly superior than that of its competitors:
We went from having a STX 38 with a 38in deck, to this, which has, more or less the same engine. Despite all the cons, I overall like this tractor but hate its transmission. Pros -Looks Great -nice seat -cup holder -Cuts Good -does a wheelie with ...
Pros: Easy to operate, cuts excellent !! Cons: NONE for my use
Looking for my first rider in many years. Evaluated all of them and was told by friends to "spend the extra and get a Deere". I did and have been highly pleased. Although I don't have over an acre, the unit handles very well, and after the first oil...
The John Deer's have always been known for quality, and this one sure does fit the name. Its high power, and superior craftsmanship make it one of the best buys on the market. I bought mine a couple years used, and it still looks brand new. i could not...
I have read DareU2's review of his LT133 riding mower and I would like to point out a couple of things. The mower in question has a 13hp engine, a 38 inch cut, and a 5 speed transmission... it is not the mower to be using to cut 4 acres of grass. I...
Pros: Well built, Easy to use, Reliable Cons: None
I have owned this mower for about 4 years now, and it has always provided reliable service. The Kohler engine always fires right up even after long periods of inactivity, and the cut is always even and beautiful. The controls are simple and intuitive to...
I love and hate my John Deere riding mower. If I can get it started I love how it mows, its very comfortable, and nice looking. But........we have had it for three years now, and have had many problems with it.
Pros: This thing is a great tractor Cons: It is getting old
I got this tractor 10 years ago Back then it was called the stx 38. I used this tractor in a lawn business for about 2 years. The tractor was great it easliy fit through gates and was so handy to have around. The pto just gave out last weekend but hay...
Pros: Quality product Cons: Horrible support on their website
Since there are lots of reviews about the LT133, which I own and LOVE, I thought I would write a little epinion about John Deere's web support for this product. Two words, "It's Horrible!" I have had my LT 133 for two years now and it runs just as ...
Pros: Quality, cut, easy to use and maintain. Cons: Price of course, but you get what you pay for.
I owned a 2000 LT133 for 6 years and it was terrific. No problems to report. Paid $1900 for it new, sold it for $1225 after 6 years of use. Purchased a larger JD and am equally pleased with the new 155C.
John Deere LT 133 Lawn Tractor by mowedout ,May 18 '06
Pros: Good in it's early life. Cons: Maintenance and repairs costly after the first couple of years.
Great the first two years, now in year 7, spending betwen 300 - 700 yearly to have "repaired" the normal maintenance, according to the dealership. I am now waiting for the dealer to come pick up the tractor, I have had it back for only two weeks. Now it appears there are transmission problems. If I had to do this again, and spare myself the grief from the nagging by my husband, I would hire someone to mow the lawn. I did like the LT 133, took good care of it but I paid aroung $2800 for it in 1999 at a licensed dealer. For that plus the yearly service, I believe I could hire someone and garden more.
Pros: Smooth operation and trouble-free. Cons: Lacks power in high grass
I cut 3/4 acre with a JD LT-133. I bought it new in 1998
with only regular maintenance, the tractor has been trouble-free. It is not a tractor that you can "bush-hog"
with-it is made for cutting grass and towing light implements.
I have replaced the deck belt twice in nine years. I would not call that high maintenance. The original battery lasted 8 years.
LT133 10 PLUS YEARS OF OWNERSHIP... by benjamin1945 ,Nov 17 '09
Pros:Flawless engine, other than the coil going bad. Cons:DANA rear end is a little weak...enclosed chain drive.
Purchased my LT133 in May '99.
1) Had to replace the rearend after the 4th year ($250) and I saved labor cost by doing it myself; it came with a Dana unit and I'm up and down hill a lot plus my weight may have caused the case to crack. 2) Replaced the starter solenoid (less than $10) after several years. 3) Replaced the coil (about $50) and did the work myself, again, save labor costs. 4) New battery every 3 years, approximately.
The engine has been and is perfect--doesn't use or leak oil. Belts have not been a problem. Replaced the drive belt once (stood the tractor up on end made it much easier. Have replaced the mower belt twice.
I'll give it a "B" grade for ten plus years of ownership, but not an "A."
