Pros: Excellent tone with real tubes, endless effects and sound combinations, lots of power. Cons: Very heavy (70 pounds), may be too complex for the tastes of some.
Johnson Millennium 150 Amplifier I was actually a bit surprised, yet delighted to find this amp on Epinions. Surprised because these are no longer in production and delighted because I have one. Although these amps are no longer in production ...
Pros: Heavy duty construction,Celestion speakers,Multi-effects,Tube powered, 150 watts, super flexible connectivity Cons: The only con I have for the JM150 is it weight. a whopping 75lbs.
These amps are super tough, sound like anything you want it too, have built in super high quality digital effects, and are LOUD. Not matter what style you play you can get that "sound like no one else" killer tone or the " that sounds exactly like so & ...
Pros: GREAT effects, no extra cords needed! SOLID construction, amazing versatility, super rich sound! Cons: HEAVY, too complex for many, squeaky master volume pot, I didn't discover it sooner!
My son's band mate brought the JM 150 by about a month ago to let me try as part of an offer to trade it to me for one of my Marshall cabs. I figured at least I could play with it a while and he could take it home. Boy, was I wrong! My eyes lit up immediately. It reeked of quality construction, to say the least, and I could tell quickly there were enough effects, etc. that it had real potential. I made the trade.
I've played a LOT of amps over 36 years, and this is the best sounding one yet. I'd thought about having some active pickups put in my Strat, but I sure don't need that now. One thing that amazes me is the fabulous tone available at low volumes. The effect parameters and sound are amazing, and this piece of gear has re-energized my interest in playing guitar again. There is no telling what I'll be able to get out of it when I get the manual. The effects are wonderful, and no hum from any extra cords!
