Pros: Classic styling and nice look for the money.
Cons: Not enough pressure for crema, messy.

I’ve been disappointed at the performance of my Jura Capressa. It doesn’t seem to generate the 18 bars of pressure that Jura claims: it takes forever to push out espresso, and there’s very little crema. It doesn’t matter how coarse my coffee grind is.

The Jura also requires a lot of maintenance to push out any coffee, even if using a burr grinder to avoid coffee dust. The daily routine requires unscrewing the top screen and scrubbing the screen and filter; taking about 15 minutes. The weak spot seems to be the design of that top pressure screen.

There doesn’t seem to be a way to discard the used grounds without making a mess. I haven’t had this issue with previous espresso makers- I’m not sure what the difference is.

I’m still looking for an espresso maker in the sub-$200 range that makes a good shot.
