Pros: Great clean sounding speakers for the money ! Cons: Not true audiophile reproducers. POWER HANDLING rating is way off the mark !
As is with other fine gear these days, speaker evaluation is highly subjective and a bit less objective than other audio components. Certainly excellent reproducers of sound can be hunted down regardless of one's financial plight ! But in a market of...

Pros: Strong bass, crystal clear mids and highs Cons: They're big!!!
I first learned of KLH speakers last year at a friend's home. He's a young pediatrician who happens to love classicals. I remember the sound coming off his KLH sounds great, and since he's young and sort of yuppie, I thought to myself that the KLH must...

Pros: Great sound. Low price. American company
Cons: None!
This review is for the KLH AV-5001B floor standing speakers.
I would like to say first that I am not a die hard audiofile. I like music to sound like it should but I'm not going to soundproof my house and go to the extreme for it. I have listened to...

KLH brings back memories!
by hejiraent ,Feb 17 '04
Pros: excellent starter set. Cons: none for the price.
I heard these particular speakers at a friends house last week. He just got them and they were hooked up to a Harman Kardon AVR 320. We listened to Dark Side of the Moon, by Pink Floyd. First off, the first set of speakers I ever owned were KLH, which I bought when I was 19. I bought them without auditioning them, simply because they were the "biggest" speakers I could afford. Since then I have overcome my notion that speaker size and loudness generate LIVE sounding music. I was reminded of that fact while listening to these speakers. Today, I am still trying to recreate LIVE sound, but, now, the area where "biggest" comes to play is usually in the price tag! As when I was 19, these speakers are excellent for beginners that have little concept of flatness or say, imaging. If you can afford a better speaker then buy better. If you cant, you will be buying a decent product that is not going to bankrupt you. Just remember that better speakers are out there.

I am using these along...
by audiophile_wannabe_dt3000 ,Dec 05 '02
I am using these along with several sattelite speakers to create my home theater. The sound is incredible... BIG lows and super crisp highs at an affordable price. I have tried to match them with a Panasonic SA-HE100 A/V amp, and a Pioneer DSX811 both rated at 100W/channel. Both do an excellent job but watch out if you really want to crank it up... both amps shut off! I recommend these speakers highly, but you will will need some hefty power to drive these things at a "concert" volume, 100 watts dosen't cut it(unless you want to go deaf), on the other hand... my neighbors still wave to me and I am not out a whole lot of money. I give KLH Two Thumbs Up!
