Pros: The wonderful aroma, excellent holding capabilities, no stiffness Cons: Expensive, dispenser difficult to use
I found this stuff at MasterCuts, after getting a really nice spiked head haircut. Holding Capabilities It keeps my hair in place perfectly. I can even mold it a little when it's dry without worrying about the paste breaking up. It holds ...

Pros: Excellent hold and control, good packaging, versatile Cons: Price, scent (unless you like cocoa butter scent for hair)
I have thick hair with just enough wave to cause problems and this paste is the only product that actually makes my hair behave. It is also very versatile--you can literally "paste" down a section of hair and it will stay as flat as you like. However, I ...

This Product is Amazing
by rvbh62 ,Jan 23 '05
Pros: Control and Volume Cons: Feels like mud at first, but it then tones downs quickly
I got a free sample of KMS Molding Paste last week. I thought oh WTH and tried it. I was amazed with the volume it gave my hair. I was amazed with the styling control I had. I have fine hair, but I have a lot of it. I decided to wear it in a semi-French twist and the hold was perfect. I got raves about how sophisticated my hair looked that night. I recommend this product to anyone who has thinning hair or anyone tired of trying to hide their part or needing volume along the part line. I don't know how I lived without it.

Great for Asian hair mixed with tacky gel
by epjh ,Feb 26 '04
Pros: Great long lasting hold. Cons: Costs a lot.
I have tried a small selection of pomades, waxes and gels to mold my straight asian hair, but its very stubborn. Sometimes my hair doesn't stay for half the day, and sometimes the stuff takes a while to wash out. My stylist introduced me to this KMS paste, which I mix half-and-half with KMS tacky gel to shape my hair. It works really well, lasts a while, and I have no real issues with washing it out.
My partner uses the same mixture to flatten her fine wavy hair. She has a similar problem in that other products don't hold the waves down.
The cocoa butter smell might take getting used to, but I don't mind it. It is a little on the strong side though.
It costs a fair bit, however. I managed to find a whole bunch on sale at a hairdresser that wanted to get rid of them. ($6US each for tacky gel and paste) I put all the new tubes in the back of my fridge, and after two years, the unused ones are still stable.
I use a little dollop the size of a quarter or less, and it goes a long way.
