Pros: All-in-one functionality. Quality of print. Ease of setup. Kodak name. Cons: Initially defective print head. Some features are difficult to program. Some signs of cheap construction.
I was interested in this particular printer ever since I first saw the display at my local Best Buy store. Normal price was $299 but a sale went into effect and I saved 10%. The big appeal of this printer for me was it's 4-in-1 functionality, the Kodak ...
Pros: Copier Cons: Poor print quality, horrible sounds, overpriced, doesn't work with mac
I was very excited to get this printer - so much so that I paid the full price at Best Buy. What a major disappointment right from the start. The instructions were vague and I needed to install software for my Mac. Had problems upfront getting the ...
I am very disappointed with the Kodak 5500 and will be returning it to Kodak. Right out of the box I felt the setup instructions were vague and I feel the same way about instructions for Scanning and photo reproduction. Print quality is poor. Black and ...
Pros: It does it all - very easily! Scan, Copy, Fax, Print! Low cost ink! Cons: Probably due to it's intended simplicity, there are few adjustment and settings options.
This printer was a Christmas gift and a replacement for an HP 722 DeskJet with ink cartridges that are quickly becoming obsolete and very hard to find. I had a heck of a time getting my Athelon based E-Machine to work with this printer. A Macbook and ...
I made the mistake of purchasing TWO of these machines for my home office, and they have both had the identical problems....the auto-feed scanner function doesn't scan more than one page (the others scan as blank white pages), the paper jams constantly ...
Pros: None from my Point of view Cons: Noisy, printhead unreliability which seems to be a problem with several other owners.
I purchased my Kodak 5500 AiO in January 2008 through a home shopping channel. Though it seemed to be quite noisy, I was satisfied with the document and photo printing outcomes. Things went down hill after replacing the ink for the first time around two ...
Cons: The 5500 software does not work with Windows System Pack 3.
The 5500 is a cool looking machine, but it is full of flaws. I bought my 5500 in Sam's Club for $99.00, but I should have saved my money. My problems started when I began to scan. I was first disappointed with the time it took to feed and scan ...
Pros: Ink costs much less, prints were good when working. Cons: You may spend as much on printheads as you save on ink.
I bought one of the first Kodak AIO 5500s out, and it worked pretty well for a while, but then stopped printing black. I thought I had messed up the firmware upgrade that Kodak made available after a few months. When I called their tech ...
Two out of three functions don't work by rsm47 ,Apr 28 '08
Pros: Kodak responds quickly. Cons: They don't solve the problems.
Initially, worked well for a week. Fax machine stopped, and Kodak suggested I buy an answering machine, since it will not work with the phone answering service. It will not scan with the adf (first and last page only). If you want to take the time, you can lift the lid for each page. When I contacted them, they said they are aware of the problem, and gave me a workaround, which does not work. Now just a copier.
I got this printer last month for my birthday. From day 1, we have had problems with it. It never worked properly. We spent time on the phone with a tech. We did readjust the printhead. It worked for a couple of hours and then we encountered another problem, called again the tech. Problem solved temporarily. Third problem! This time, my husband took it back to the store and got another one. Same thing! All kinds of problems with this one also. It does not print correctly, quality of photos poor, etc. Right now, it does not work at all. So, we are going back to the store this weekend and this time get another model. Very disappointed!
Don't buy if you want the ADF to work. Mine only scans one page at a time in anything except for grayscale. Any more than one page and it scans white pages for everything after the first. In Grayscale it scans so light you can barely read the scanned images and as if that weren't bad enough it mixes up the pages so that nothing is in order. Tech support is clueless.

Pros: great prints when it works Cons: printhaed is crap and customer service sucks
I could never get the fax component to work. The card reader would not recognize SandDisk cards. 7 months in the first print head stoped printing correctly. I got a replacement that only lasted 3 months and now needs replacing again. But guess what now? the printer is out of waranty. Support staff is outsorced and incompetent. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was never put through to one. My longest of many calls was more than an hour long and when interupted the person would start over as if reading from a script.
