  • Kashi GoLEAN on a Trash Can

    Oct 17 '02
Pros: Nice ingredients, some soy, a lot of carbs (a pro for some) and decent protein.
Cons: Taste, lack of vitamins, too much sugar, taste.

Summary: I have reviewed a couple of the Kashi Cereals. I liked Good Friends a lot but I didn’t like Kashi GoLean. In spite of that I thought I would try Kashi GoLean Cereal Slimming System High Protein/Fiber Bar. I didn’t buy them as part of...

  • Kashi doesn't fool me! They have gotten smaller!!!

    Nov 26 '09
Pros: Tasty, sufficient fiber content, great pre/post exercise snack, helps control lingering hunger throughout the workday.
Cons: Overpriced, not even completely organic, and THEY KEEP GETTING SMALLER!

Summary: I am a runner, and a health nut. I would eat the cherry dark chocolate granola as well as the pumpkin pie granola almost everyday. It is a great snack before/after a workout. I'm not concerned with lack of vitamins, I will get them elsewhere in my daily ...

  • The Chocolate Almond Kashi GoLean Crunchy Tastes Healthier than It Is

    Dec 06 '07
Pros: did fill me up for a couple of hours, low in calories
Cons: tastes like cardboard, not as healthy as expected

Summary: I recently picked up a Chocolate Almond GoLean Crunchy bar as food for a several hour train trip. I knew I wouldn't have time for a real breakfast beforehand and that I'd get to my destination after my preferred lunchtime under those circumstances. I ...

  • This one won't be packed in my lunch

    Mar 15 '07
Pros: some good for you nutrients
    Cons: stale taste

Summary: In my search for good tasting bars that I can toss in my purse to have when I am on the road I found the Kashi GoLean bar a couple of weeks ago when I was in Walgreen's. They had them on sale for half price….now I know why! The ...

  • Kashi GoLEAN Bars: Malted Chocolate Crisp Bars

    Aug 24 '06
    Pros: Nice size bar!
Cons: High in calories, sugar, not very tasty!

Summary: Kashi is a brand that when I think about it, I think of healthy food. I've tried several things in their product line and I've been mostly satisfied until I tried Kashi GoLEAN Malted Chocolate Crisp Bar. It was not very tasty or ...

  • I Love These!

    Mar 20 '05
Pros: High fiber, high protein, low in fat, no artificial ingredients, no bad vitamin aftertaste!
    Cons: For me--none!

Summary: Unlike the other reviewers of Kashi GoLEAN Bars here, I really like this product (based on trying one flavor so far.) The three biggest factors for me are that they are high in fiber (7g fiber per bar of the Chocolate Peanut Butter flavor,) they have no ...

  • Great choice, On the go meal replacement

    Mar 25 '03
    Pros: Convenient, tasty
    Cons: Too many carbs, sugar

Summary: I would recommend this product to any adult who is on the go and may not have time for a sit-down breakfast. The bars are filling and have staying power. The average price of the bars is about $1.79 each, but I often find them on sale for much less. Some...

  • Healthy alternative with wholesome fiber.

    Jan 24 '03
Pros: Great fiber, filling and full of (for the most part) wholesome ingredients.
Cons: I do not care for the palm kernel oil contained therein.

Summary: The taste of the Kashi GoLean bar is extremely satisfying. However, I would not recommend this bar to one that is solely watching their diet to lose weight without engaging in some form of a work out program. I use it to give me the added carbs and...

  • Good Fiber Content, But High in Sugars!

    Oct 11 '02
Pros: Large bar, plenty of fibers, nice taste, lots of flavors
Cons: High sugars, ~280 calories per bar

Summary: I remember Kashi products from when I was a child, when we would buy their cereals. Since then, the Kashi company has grown substantially, both in popularity as well as products offered to the consumer. Their company was started in 1984,...

  • Diet and Sports Nutrition for Your Weight Loss Program

    Sep 09 '02
Pros: Diet friendly, sustained energy, high protein, high fiber, edible
Cons: High sugar content, not low carb, taste

    Summary: Introduction
Sports and fitness are a big part of my life, and I try to stay on top of the current diets and weight loss programs, as well as nutritional supplements and diet foods. I recently tried the Kashi GoLEAN bars and wanted to...

  • SO I DON'T GET ENOUGH FIBER IN MY DIET, updated

    Aug 28 '02
Pros: Slimming, good tasting, and provide a lot of fiber and protein
    Cons: None

Summary: I have always struggled with my weight and thus also suffer from constipation. My eating habits must not be the greatest so I never seem to have enough fiber in my system.

A while ago when I went to Weight Watchers they put me on to Kashi Go...

  • Previous reviews puzzling

    Apr 23 '02
Pros: High is protein, potassium and a great source of fiber
    Cons: a bit too sweet

Summary: I am very puzzled by the reviews put forth previous to mine. I do not see the "awful" taste that they profess. Have you ever ate any of these nutrition bars?
A great source of fiber and protein. Next time your an item claims "high in fiber" check...

  • Tasty, but...

    Apr 21 '02
    Pros: Tasty and fulfilling.
    Cons: Price, nutritional value.

Summary: These bars are a good alternative to junk food, but there are better options if you are looking more for a bar that is tasty and packs a some serious nutritional value. On the other hand, some of the more nutritional bars taste quite bad, so you have to...

  • What it lacks in vitamins, it makes up for with a non-vitamin taste

    Apr 11 '02
Pros: large enough to actually replace a meal, all natural
Cons: not at all grocery stores, expensive

Summary: Between Kashi cereals and Go Lean Bars I managed to lose twenty pounds. If any of you have ever tried Go Lean Cereal and did not really care for the hay taste, don't worry these bars have much more flavor. Unlike the cereal which comes in the standard...

  • A Better Balanced Bar

    Apr 04 '02
Pros: Satisfying size, texture, good protein v. carb ratio, better than average flavor
Cons: Fat grams make it a better meal than a snack bar

Summary: Cereal bars that are low in fat and include a sizable ratio of fiber, protein, and carbohydrates are few and far between. The Kashi GoLean bars are a welcome exception. I've tried Strawberry Vanilla Yogurt, Honey Vanilla Yogurt, and Chocolate Peanut...
