Pros: Great voice, good uptempo song choices Cons: The ballads take the album down a notch
(This product is mistitled and hopefully will be fixed soon.) Katharine McPhee is known as the runner up to season five winner Taylor Hicks on American Idol. The 22 year old singer utilized her good looks and fantastic voice to overcome a lack of "it" ...

Pros: A couple of good songs Cons: Lack of personality is the biggest flaw of the album.
In the spirit of the recent American Idol Season Six finale I figured I would once again revisit season five for a moment. Last year was a different year for those who made it to the final twelve. Despite the fun, frolicking feel of Taylor Hick’s ...

Pros: Moments of voice Cons: Dramatically overproduced, Lyrics are dull to outright dumb, Musically unimaginative, Voice is frequently overrun, Themes
I’ve never been at all into “American Idol,” so it was a surprise to me to discover that the c.d. I just picked up, “Katharine McPhee,” the eponymous album by her, was part of the whole “American Idol” craze. Once I listened to it, it did not at all ...

Pros: tried to make a relevant debut, went outside her comfort zone, four very strong songs Cons: voice doesn't match material, lyrically absurd, no real identity, voice needs some soul
Ahh, how I love a good pop diva. If you guys are familiar with me whatsoever (either on the site or off the site), you know how much I love a gorgeous female who can belt out a heartwrenching ballad that moves you to tears or pulsating upbeat that moves ...

Pros: The upbeat tracks, Productions done by Danja, Vocals are great Cons: Producers take the spotlight, Everything's almost soulless, Lacks personality
Katharine McPhee is the runner up for Season 6 of American Idol. Her voice is girlie with a diva flare and though she is obviously the most commercial-like out of her and the winner Taylor Hicks, she sadly doesn't have the charm or the personality that ...

Pros: Great vocals, some fun beats, "Ordinary World" Cons: Some confused melodies, distinct lack of power notes, "Not Ur Girl"
I'm never quick to subscribe to the fan base of an American Idol runner up. For some reason, possibly the brainwashing techniques of the television and Simon Cowell's scathing remarks, I tail the winner, not the losers. To its credit, American Idol has ...

Pros: Good voice, pretty good uptempo songs Cons: Nothing we haven't already heard
I was rather disappointed with the overall sound on this album, as I'm sure many people are. Back on Idol, I relished the bluesy, jazzy sound that Katharine stuck to. That's why it's such a letdown that she decided to peddle this generic pop/r&b sound ...

Pros: Great vocals on most songs. Solid debut. Cons: "Open Toes," watch out for spammers.
Part 1: a little background on this. OK, where do I begin? First off, I must say that even though Im young, Im not that much into the current music trends. I would much rather listen to RUSH or Led Zeppelin then Justin ...

Pros: Tracks: Over It, Home, Better Off Alone
Overall: Katharine gets the spotlight. Cons: Tracks: Open Toes
Overall: Lack of consistency; over-produced; unoriginal.
Last year's American Idol runner-up, Katharine McPhee, is realizing the next phase of post-reality show fame with the release of her first full-length CD. Fans from the show and those who hurriedly purchased her "Over the Rainbow/My Destiny" single may ...

Pros: Katherine is Beautiful and Talented and I am sure she will carry this effort Cons: Canned old regurgitated R&B that offers nothing original
OK... Gotta Say First that she is trying totally to be a rival to her idol Christina Aguilera. The problem is that she comes off as a cheap imitation to the real deal. She hides easily under the slick R&B productions but when the Ballads kick in she ...

formulatic pop/r&b album by an after school special kelly clarkson
by danzoolo ,Jan 31 '07
Pros: good moments but nothing new Cons: not that great of a voice, nothing original
since epinions doesnt listen the album title its self titled and it came out jan 30th 2007. anyways i had high hopes for this album but really its nothing i hoped for. nothing on here shocks me honestly. its all pop/r&b stuff you've all heard before on dare i say it kelly clarkson's thankful. i almost think the record company told her to be kelly clarkson and thats what she did. over it is a good song but is like miss independent and jojo's leave get out. even my radio station dj said it sounded TOO much like leave get out. other songs on here are nothing special just some ballads and a couple uptempo stuff but really its all been done before and better. katherine mcphee also only has an average voice. too "breathy". this album will probably be huge regardless that it's nothing worth going crazy about.
