$300 dust collector

by melmo925 , Jul 07 '08
Pros: It was great for the time it worked...I guess.
Cons: The dvd player...
Bought this product 2 years ago for a long road trip, during the trip the problems began. I would have to try disk after disk before it would work again. Once back we attempted to use it every once in a while. It would sometimes read the disk fine, ...

Portable Kawasaki dual DVD player
by wheel1001 ,Oct 23 '06
Pros: Good product when working correctly.
Cons: Does not work well.
I bought this product last December. It skips the Dvd's, the sound does not work on one of the screens and the picture on the other screen goes on and off. I purchased this unit at target. Since it was over the 90 days Target would not exchange it. The manufacturer is impossible to get in touch with. I called 3 times, was on hold for 15 minutes then was disconnected. I emailed the manufacturer twice and did not receive a response.

The worst DVD player!!!!
by bocklee ,Apr 17 '07
Pros: NONE!!!!!!
Cons: Stops working within a few months!
I notified the company after this DVD player stopped working. We have only had it 9 months and used it for two trips. It stopped working halfway through the second trip with thousands of miles left to drive! They suggested that I send them another $80 (I paid over $200 for this piece of garbage)to get it fixed or to have them send me a refurbished one. I am amazed that there is not a full year warranty. I will never buy another one of their products and will advise everyone I know not to do so either. I wish that I would have read the reviews on here before purchasing this product. I would have rather invested the money into a laptop computer!

What a pile of garbage!!!!
by ben1234 ,Feb 07 '07
Pros: You can watch a movie at home or anywhere stationary
Cons: only worked well for 3 months
I have the kawasaki dual 7" screen portable dvd player. Model pvs1965s I have never had a piece of electronics give me so much grief. this thing will not play in a car it will only play if it is on a hard stable surface. it will also skip with any new dvd's old movies work fine but anything post 2006 just plays like crap. This thing is a pile of crap-ola. i will never ever EVER buy another Kawasaki anything. I hate this thing so much i wont even buy a Kawasaki bike. oh and the 3 month warranty goes by pretty quick. customer service wont help at all. they tell me to send it in and they will fix it for a fee. i wouldnt throw another penny at this piece of S&*T!!!!! dont buy it dont dont dont.

PVS1965 unreliable
by havesail ,Feb 21 '07
Pros: Dual screen feature nice, set up easy.
Cons: Unreliable
Had unit for a little over a year but only used around 20 times. Gave a non-valid disk display which I found out from the manufacturer, Alco Electronics, would cost $85.00 to fix.

Just do a Google search and you will see...
by ccgts ,Jun 16 '08
Pros: Two screens, nice size screens, good sound.
Cons: Basically, you are taking $300 and throwing it out the window, and disappointing children.
I purchased this DVD player from Target. I have only used it about 15 times over the course of a year. I will admit, the sound and picture are nice WHEN IT WORKS!! However, after having this for a little over a year, the DVD started freezing. Then, without warning, I get a "Not A Valid Disk", when trying ANY DVD. Thanks Kawasaki. Now I have to explain to my four year old why he cannot watch movies in the car anymore. I paid almost $300, and it stops working after a year?? I can send it back for $80 to fix. How about this....since every person that owns one of these has this problem...issue a RECALL, or give us our money back!! To sum it up, don't waste your money. In less than a year (or 20 times using it) it will stop working. Would you buy a TV, Toaster, Blender, or Cell Phone that works less than 20 times?......Again, Thanks Kawasaki. This is a product that will most likely be used by children....and you failed them. Good Job. But then again, you made your profit.

kawasaki portable dvd player
by eandhmom ,Jan 04 '07
Pros: dual screens that work for a few months
Cons: bad machine; difficult company to work with
had it for 5 months when it stopped working. screens had sound, but the picture went out. kawasaki customer service was a joke. after a long wait on the phone, they said they would fix it if i sent it in for a cost of at minimum $30 plus shipping. repair time was four weeks out. we couldn't last that long without a dvd player in the car! really disappointed . . . waste of $175 for very little use.

Kick'd da Bucket
by suthnr ,Aug 17 '09
Pros: On the good side, never skipped.
Cons: Three strikes.. err.. uses... Your OUT!
Well, my PVS1965 just crapped out.  Worked ok for the entire trip we just made, got home and the next day got the fabled "no valid disc" error when trying to load a DVD. Plays regular music and MP3 discs fine, but don't need the dvd player for that... MAYBE used it 3-4 times over 2 years.  Too bad warranties don't cover actual usage rather than time................ There's a couple hundred bones flushed down the drain.  Anyone one some good monitors?
