Pros: Her personality shines through, the songs are enjoyable and sicere Cons: Her voice isn't perfect, a couple of songs are generic.
Theres a lot to be said for personality. Kellie Pickler, although not having a voice that can belt pitch perfect or a range that rivals modern day divas, has buckets and buckets full of personality. Naïve and unsophisticated, yet oddly appealing ...

Pros: Pickler doesn't over sing any songs. Solid production Cons: Mostly middle-of-the-road country songs.
After the huge success of American Idol's Carrie Underwood had after her 2005 win of the series it was inevitable that 2006's version would too find a southern, blond-haired, 'awe shucks,' type of girl to promote. Enter Kellie Pickler who ...

Pros: pleasant voice, an Idol debut with personality, better than expected Cons: thin voice, personality may grate, the magic isn't on every track, repetitive subjects

Best Idol Album Yet
by chefkey ,Nov 27 '06
Pros: Catchy, Well written and performed marvelously Cons: None
After having heard Carrie Underwood, then Bo Bice and Chris Daughtry's Albums I heard Kellie's offering. It has become obvious to me that all the best songwriters are currently in Nashville. Carrie and Kellie have been given much better melodies that stay diverse the entire album while Bo and Chris were reduced to Nickelback wannabes. Kellie's album has great storytelling woven into catchy melodies with decent hooks. Her song to her mother "Wonder" is so heartfelt and poignant it will bring a tear to your eye while "Small town girl" will make you chuckle at her joke about Calamari. Every song on the album was well written and I was very surprised at how well she carried each one with very mature sounding lyrics. The album succeeds in having a freshman sound to it while keeping her dignity as a talented vocalist. Overall great job by the whole production crew as well as Kellie who I am sure will have great success with her first attempt.
