Pros: Very good suction; low noise; light weight; well designed. Cons: Will the apparently flimsy molded plastic lids survive under prolong usage?
You cannot stop progress in my house! I recently acquired a brand new Kenmore canister vacuum cleaner (Sp. Aspiradora), mfr. model #25615, also known as a Kenmore Progressive Canister Vacuum with Telescopic Wand, Blue Moon White. This ...
Pros: Great value, great cleaning, nifty onboard tool storage, micron/HEPA filtration, Star Wars looks, quiet. Cons: Star Wars looks, telescoping wand collapses too easily in use.
We've come a long way from the days when vacuum cleaners were heard but not seen. Over the last few decades, vacuums have gotten quieter, their noise levels complementing their muted tones and styling. Well, something happened in the last few years, ...
I have had so much aggravation with vacuums in the past that I figured it was that I got what I paid for. So this time I went with a more expensive model, researched and still ended up with an awful vacuum. I bought our Kenmore Progressive Bagged ...
Pros: Tough, good suction, telescoping wand Cons: somewhat cheap case, auto cord wind needs extra pushes
I started my upscale vacuum experience with an Electrolux. (I have issues with my hands and vibrating appliances are something I try to avoid) That said my boys (now 16 and 19) are the ones that vacuum in my house. This means the vacuum goes thru a ...
Pros: Great suction, great attachments, good for all floor types, powermate jr. Cons: none yet, will update later
I've only had this for a few days, but already I love it. I haven't used a canister vac in years, so I did have to adjust w/pulling the canister around. I used to vacuum from the far side of the room back towards the door, but now move forward into the ...
Pros: Quiet; nice job cleaning carpet. Cons: A few cheap touches: the lid, length-adjust and foot release.
The body of this vacuum cleaner has got to be the least attractive I've seen among recent models. Instead of a sanitary white, it actually has a light green-blue hue, which seems as though it should be glow-in-the-dark. But, the focus should be on ...
Pros: superb suction, HEPA filter, telescoping wand, well designed, very nice handheld power attachment Cons: not many, could be cheaper, plastic cover on attachment bay could feel more robust
Ok, I admit it, I'm excited about a vacuum cleaner. I bought a Kenmore canister vac 10 years ago for about $120 dollars. I wasn't sure how long it would last (as it wasn't very expensive) but for $120 a few years would have been a good deal. I'm pleased ...
Pros: Quiet, light to pull around, ease of use and suction is great! Cons: Haven't found any cons yet that I could not work around!
I found this vac amazingly quiet and so light to pull around. It has great suction and has an edge cleaner on both sides of the head, that really work! The handle is easy to disconnect from the head by stepping on a lever with your foot, to use with ...
Good Vacuum; Hard to seperate wand. by marciaopinion ,Jul 03 '07
Pros: Worked great first time Cons: loud whistling sound, difficult to seperate wand from rug piece.
I bought this vacuum after my previous Kenmore Progressive had had it. I paid $274.00 plus the $65.00 5 yr protection.
It worked good the first time I used it, however, ever since, it has a whistling noise when vacuuming, and the suctioning is not that great, but there is nothing in the hose, or clogging the bag.
Also, it is very difficult to seperate the hose from the rug attachment. Plus, putting it back on, is just as much of a pain.
We have small area rugs thru out our house, with a lot of hardwood, the vacuum does a poor job (at best) with either the rug attachement (on floor setting), or with the floor attachment.
Overall, I'm not happy with it, and am thinking of returning it.
We had a previous Kenmore canister model and this one is an improvement.
The cord works better.
The canister is much more maneuverable while in use.
The extra filtration filter is a plus.
The Power Mate Junior attachment is nice for couches, etc.
The power is sufficient.
Kenmore has done a good job designing this unit. I like all aspects of it.
Good cleaning-mediocre quality by mcharlton1 ,Jul 21 '08
Pros: Cleans well, good hepa Cons: Cheap rotor brush for the price.
This canister offers a lot of bells and whistles compared to it's German counterparts. The vacuum cleans really well. I'm glad I bought their overpriced warantee, though. After a year, the rotor brush siezed-up and it took a month for Sears to finally get around to fixing it. Then right before the warantee was about to expire, the rotor brush siezed again. Yes, yes, the wife has long hair, but seriously, for $350 you'd expect more than this. An Oreck costs the same but has a metal brush with more horsepower, so everyday hair doesn't get caught in the berings. The warantee was a lifesaver because the stupid brush is $75 to replace it myself! How do they make money on these appliances?
I'm going to see how long this thing will last because I refuse to buy another warantee. Kenmore used to be the standard of quality. It's really just an overpriced Wal-Mart vacuum.
Pros: Nice long 28 foot cord. Hepa Filters. Cons: The bare floor attachment breaks apart constantly.
Too Loud. Cost of allergy bags. Fewer attachments.
I traded my old Kenmore Progressive vacuum for a newer updated version only to find that I inherited the same problems. The same parts broke. I will never buy Kenmore again.
I wish I had taken it back as soon as I used it one day.
LOVE IT! An almost perfect vacuum! by thekingofsobe ,Aug 10 '08
Pros: cleaning, suction Cons: hose is bad, gets tangled and is hard to use! Flimsy tool storage cover.
I love this machine except for 2 items, the flimsy tool storage cover (which seems to be a complaint for years, hello sears designer, wake up and smell the brewed decaf!!!) and the hose.
Hose does not spin around so when you are vacuuming, you have to untangle it many times and what ever happened to the easy to hold, easy to use regular hoses? When you are using attachements you want to cry because your hands hurt so much from holding the vacuum the way it is with the hose. (Try vacuuming a couch with an attachment and you will see EXACTLY what I mean!)
Otherwise, machine is powerful, bag is great, you dont get smells from it (I use the best allergy bags out there, pricey, but how often do you change them? Worth it in the long run)
Everything a $1200 Miele has, but the price by exhausted_ ,Jul 21 '06
Pros: 3-stage Hepa filter, telescoping wand, all tools on-board, long power cord Cons: None
Perfectly designed canister vacuum!
1. 3-stage Hepa filter
2. Telescoping wand -- no power cords to fuss with!
3. ALL tools can be carried on board, including the Powermate hand tool!
4. Incredibly long power cord
5. Large capacity bag
6. Power controls on handle
This vacuum has all of the features of a $1200 Miele (even more, since the Powermate hand tool fits on board), and cleans just as well.
Before buying this one, I spent $700 on a Riccar canister (1500P) that turned out to be very poorly designed -- tiny bag clogged up after sweeping a single room, and none of the regular tools can be carried on board (instead, there are useless "mini" versions of the tools on board!)
I got the Kenmore for $300 at Sears.com, and paid $65 for the 5-year extended warranty.
