Pros: not enough room here...read my full review Cons: can't really think of any worth mentioning
I just read the review submitted by staciared2 and I couldn't have said it better myself...however, I didn't have the problem with the installation. I went for the gusto and purchased the HE4T washer & HE4 dryer from my local Sears store and they ...
Pros: clean clothes, soft towels, energy savings, looks cool Cons: installation is a pain, initial expense is high
We researched washers for two years prior to purchasing the He4t. We heard all the good and bad and were very wary of spending all that money on a lemon. We had a used top loader that was approximately 25 years old so this would mark a significant ...
Pros: Cleanliness of clothes, softness of towels, reduced drying time. Cons: Cost and initial reaction of customer service when complaint was filed.
Our initial experience was negative. Within 15 minutes of the Sears' employees hooking up the washer and dryer and leaving, our washroom was covered in water. A week later (is that reasonable?) a service technician was able to stop by and ...
Pros: None whatsoever Cons: Very intelligent machine, unsurpassed cleaning capability, sanitary cycle a nice feature
I'll keep this review relatively short, since there are already many raves about this machine written before me. First of all, my laundry room is on the second floor of a so-so constructed townhouse, built around 1987. After reading many reviews about ...
Do not buy this washer. I have owned mine for over a year know and it has flooded my upstairs floor 3 times now. Mostly recently last night when it managed to flood into 3 rooms of my upstairs floor. The belt comes loose and lets water out all over the place. We have had the belt replaced each time only to be promised that it would not happen again. It also goes off balance constantly smacking into everything around it causing holes the walls, dents in the dryer, splintered the cabinets. I now have to sit and watch the washer through the entire cycle to make sure that it does not cause any more damage. This machine has cost us $$$Thousands of dollars in repairs. Do not buy unless you are bored and have money to burn. Ceiling has swelled up since.
Multiple repairs within a year by hdmont ,May 18 '07
Pros: Cleans well Cons: Keeps breaking down, multiple repairs after a year of use.
Got both the washer he4t and dryer he4 back in may of 2005. It is just my husband and I, no kids, so we don't do much laundry. 1 year and 3 months (Aug 2006) after we had the washer, the door wouldn't unlock. Luckily we an extended 3 yr warranty. System board replaced seemed to be fine. May 1st 2007, water leaking from door. Seems the rubber gasket was deformed in this area and allowed water to leak. Gasket replaced, seemd to work fine. May 12, 2007, doing a load of laundry, noticed water all over the floor. Pulled open the bottom drawer....filled with WATER. Repair guy coming out today. Disappointed on performance. Going to question replacement policy.
They told me 4 major parts replacements before I can file paper work for lemon law. The repair was done May 18th, and now its leaking again. So we have another repair scheduled the 21st! The clamp needed tightened. Did a load and YET again still leaking. Another repair scheduled for the 24th.
Pros: It works fine when it is operable. Cons: Shuts off in cycle , expensive to repair.
We bought this washer in 2005, it had intermittent problems stopping in cycle. The Sears service man came and repaired , it lasted until the extended warranty ran out. The serviceman says it need a new computer, (electronic control board) which costs $250.00 plus labor which comes to another $150.00. We are saying bye bye Kenmore hello LG.
Pros: Does clean clothes well and save water and energy Cons: Noisy!! Sears has been trained to have an excuse for everything to eliminate responsibility.
Washer cleans wonderful but is EXTREMELY loud. My washer has been looked at by a service person three times and replaced once. Noise was the main concern I expressed when looking to buy. Sears has an excuse for everything. I was told there must be a defect in my new house's floor to cause the noise of the machine. Washer did perform much quieter on the floor without pedestal. Being a tall person, I would never consider keeping it without the pedestal. BEWARE: 15% restocking fee for a return if you are not happy!!
I had read some mixed reviews about the vibration of this unit and that the zippers act as a chainsaw while it spins wrecking your clothes but I've got to tell you folks - this machine is AMAZING!
It cleans and cleans and cleans and is amazingly quiet.
The reason I'm writing though - is that the manual doesn't explain something and I'm hoping someone on here knows the answer.
The detergent compartment holds about 600 liters of soap. Do you have to load it each time you do a load, or do you preload it and it despenses what it needs?
For those of you who are looking for a washer/dryer - this set is the one to get. Don't think twice. You won't be disappointed!
kenmore HE4t Front load Washing Machine by paget3 ,Sep 14 '06
Pros: energy efficent, tackles stains wonderfully, looks great, many washing options Cons: super loud and much vibrating! But we have it installed on the 2nd floor.
I've had my HE4t for over a year now, and I love it as much as the day I bought it.
I had a routine service call (that I had paid for)last week, and nothing is wrong and it is still running great.
This is a great washing machine. I honestly have never had a stain I couldn't get out using the "stain treat" cycle. I also love the sanitary cycle for when the kids are sick.
Pros: Multiple washing settings Cons: No drum light !
I purchased the washer about 2 mos. ago.No problems so far,I have only one complaint. Why build a $1400 dollar washer and not include a tub light? It would be nice to be able to look in and see how it's performing.Be warned,if you plan on delivering your washer it weighs approximately 350 pounds.I have a question,is the bleach or detergent suppose to spill into the drum before the machine start?I notice when I add the detergent or bleach it spills onto the clothes before I press any buttons. Please feel free to e-mail me(jre56@sbcglobal.net).Include Kenmore washer in the title if you have a response.
