Pros: Uses less water which is better for the environment and costs less to use. Cons:It's been serviced TOO MANY times! See update at the bottom of the review
We use a lot of towels at our house. 6-8 bath towels a day isnt anything unusual. Add to that the kids blue jeans, blankets, and whatever the dog threw up on, and youll see we do a lot of laundry. About a year ago, our 14-year old ...
Pros: Attractive; simple to operate (load & leave); efficient. Cons: Could be just a little easier to maintain/clean certain areas.
Ours is a Model # 22062, followed by 101, whatever that indicates. When looking through epinions for this, I was not able to find our exact model, but found similarly-numbered ones. I was amazed at how many poor reviews those washers received, ...
Pros: Stylish, quiet, everything is automatic. Cons: Bleach dispenser isn't consistent, cannot handle large loads as it claims.
We purchased this machine at the Sears outlet store a couple of months ago. We actually bought another Kenmore machine and when we got it home, it didn't work. We took it back to the store and they didn't have another model like that so they offered us...
Pros: Nice looking, quiet, easy to use. Cons: Second rinse required, takes too long, clothes remain dirty.
We purchased this machine at Sears because we have always had such good luck with Kenmore everything. I personally liked the idea of the "Calypso Action" where instead of the machine agitating the clothes in a tub of water, they were showered with water. ...
Pros: Super Cleaning of Whites, Works well on huge loads Cons: Price
I carefuly researched my recent purchase - found out that this model was a leading consumer guide's top pick. Read all I could on the Whirlpool site (who makes this for Sears) and determined that this was the machine for me. Got real nervous when I read...
When my 27 year old Whirlpool died I decided it was time to get a washer that was as water efficient as possible. I have a private well, and at certain times of the year (mostly summer) I have problems with the well running out of water. These problems...
Pros: Uses less water, large capacity tub. Cons: Overpriced, expensive to fix, just adequate performance.
I bought the Calypso to save water and replace a Sears washer that had lasted for 25 years and three boys. Now the 'control panel' is dead and I'm told that it will $400 - $500 to fix it. When I called Sears to try to order the part(s) to fix it ...
Pros: Quiet, Lots of cycle selections, large capacity. Cons: Breaks frequently
We purchased this machine 18 months ago from a Sears Outlet. The machine was a bargain, or so we thought at $649.99. It's list price at the time was $1249.99 so we thought we had found a real deal.
Pros: Digital timer. Energy efficient. Cons: Frequently becomes unbalanced. Pump quit suddenly. Clothes in mesh bag not clean enough.
My two-year-old Calypso washer left me high and dry this weekend with four loads of laundry to wash! I had a load in the washer when the pump suddenly went out on the machine. The water would not drain, the liquid fabric softener would not dispense and ...
Pros: low water usage, really nice repair people Cons: damages towels and clothing, detergent thing that doesn't clean up during wash.
I bought this product because I didn't want to pay more money for a front-loading washer. It had gotten a good review in a well-known consumer advice magazine, and is supposed to be gentle on clothes and use less water. It may use less water, but it ...
Pros: Great for first couple months. Like how bleach would be added after load started. Cons: Doesn't perform as advertised by salesman. Too many repair problems. Doesn't clean well.
My family moved from NC to CA in 7/01 and I decided to leave my old w/d there, buying new here. Checked out the washers-the new front loaders and these Kenmore Elite with calypso action cleaning. I guess in retrospect I listened to the salesman more ...
Pros: Large capacity, Saves on water Cons: Clothes not clean, soap stays on the clothes, very expensive to repair.
I purchased a Calypso Elite Model 21062 and 5 year home maintenance warranty on 10/17/00. I majored in engineering and thought the concept was very good, like a washer in a Laundromat except vertical. My bad. The washer cost $1099.99 and the warranty...
We also bought it thinking we were getting the top of the line washer machine. Well, many repairs and many ruined clothes later, it stopped working and spewed water all over the floor yesterday. What really stinks about this machine is that you cannot ...
Pros: NOTHING Cons: DOES NOT CLEAN CLOTHES AND BREAKS VERY EASILY! SEARS SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!
This is the worst washer ever!!! Clothes come out looking worse than before washed! Many white spots (dry spots) where the water does not touch the fabric & they do not go away! I have thrown out clothes that were brand new after trying to wash in ...
Kenmore Calypso should change name to Flopypso!!! by r82246 ,Aug 03 '04
Pros: Water Conservation. Cons: High cost, low durability, expensive repair labor and parts.
Researched consumer reports before purchase and like water conservation so paid high price $1,000. Only 3 years old with only my husband and I who use it and now it doesn't work. The fix this time will run $325 with no warranty. Complained to Sears and Kenmore and their great solution was 20% off repair costs or $65 toward purchase of new machine (from them of course). Repairman of 17 years with Sears states expensive repairs not uncommon. If purchasing a new machine he recommend a no frills top loader, large capacity, avoid digital and computer component settings. Kenmore manufactures none of their own appliances and obviously will not stand behind them. I will not buy anymore appliances from Sears.
