Pros: The best 6.1 receiver I could find for the money. Cons: No one would give me one for free!
Like the other reviewers here I was looking for a multi-function receiver for music and movies. And I didn't want to spend a fortune. After doing some research I purchased a new VR-6070. Besides having good power and a full menu of surround functions the ...
Pros: Affordable and everything I was looking for in a THX receiver. Cons: I haven't come across one yet. But I will keep looking.
Looking to turn your living room into a THX home theater? Not looking to mortgage your family and home to do it? You have come to right place. I had a nice DTS home theater audio system set up and running in my home. Decided that it was time to look ...
Pros: -THX-EX for under 200$
-552 watts of power(Tested by S&V Magazine as 92x6 A.C.D)
Cons: None at this level, remote could use macros, but thats getting too picky.
I Have been using this receiver for about 4 months now, so I would say I have gotten used to it, and gotten to like it VERY much. Music is FAR better in 5.1 "CSII Music" than "Stereo". The power amp has lots of power, and can push hard to drive ...
Pros: reliable, powerful dynamic sound, priced hundreds below other receivers with same features, professional look Cons: none so far
The Kenwood VR-6070 has dynamic sound, power, reliability, & features found in receivers selling for hundreds more. Some say the manual is hard to navigate, I found it easy. Some say the the remote has small buttons - transfer main control to your TV ...
Pros: Has just about everything you could want in a low/mid priced AV receiver Cons: Takes a while to set up and adjust, runs warm, manual could be better
I researched this receiver and decided that for the price, it would meet most of my needs. I am in no way an audiophile but I know what I like and I like the VR 6070. After setting it up I played as many digital sources I could find and all were...
For years, I have waited to upgrade to a home theatre surround system. During Summer 2002, I finally began this quest. To my chagrin, I noticed the prices of surround receivers varied wildly from $300 to $5,000. Not being an audiophile, I narrowed my...
i got the pioneer d811s first very disapointed confusing manual tech support was terrible amp sounded weak went back to best buy and got the 6070 set it up and am very pleased with it this thing is loaded to the gills with surr modes and opts amp sounded graet thanks to THX certs the RF remote is a graet feature as my computer is in another room do not run 2 speakers on the surr bakcs this may damage the amp it should say this in the manual but does not use pre outs or an AB switch runs real hot but now has a cooling fan i think i got a very good deal 100.00 manuf rebate 10% preferred cust disc 450.00 buy one if you can other prods used pioneer VSX 9700s vsx d811s vsx 4800 sansui G-6700
Very happy with the unit, but the manual stinks and is not clear. Additionally, calling the 800-number didn't help much more. I would highly recommend this unit as the price is right for what you get.
Had the receiver for a couple months now and am very pleased. Have JBL speakers. Sound is great. The nice thing is it has auto recognition of sound type(whether DVD is THX, DTS, PLII, etc.). Would highly recommend this receiver. Only con I can think of is the set up is confusing and the diagrams for set up of DVD, satellite, etc is terrible. There is no diagram for PSII/XBOX either(just put it into video 3).
