i got the pioneer d811s first very disapointed confusing manual tech support was terrible amp sounded weak went back to best buy and got the 6070 set it up and am very pleased with it this thing is loaded to the gills with surr modes and opts amp sounded graet thanks to THX certs the RF remote is a graet feature as my computer is in another room do not run 2 speakers on the surr bakcs this may damage the amp it should say this in the manual but does not use pre outs or an AB switch runs real hot but now has a cooling fan i think i got a very good deal 100.00 manuf rebate 10% preferred cust disc 450.00 buy one if you can other prods used pioneer VSX 9700s vsx d811s vsx 4800 sansui G-6700

Very happy with the unit, but the manual stinks and is not clear. Additionally, calling the 800-number didn't help much more. I would highly recommend this unit as the price is right for what you get.

Had the receiver for a couple months now and am very pleased. Have JBL speakers. Sound is great. The nice thing is it has auto recognition of sound type(whether DVD is THX, DTS, PLII, etc.). Would highly recommend this receiver. Only con I can think of is the set up is confusing and the diagrams for set up of DVD, satellite, etc is terrible. There is no diagram for PSII/XBOX either(just put it into video 3).
