My dog has never been much of a party hound. Darwin, a Chinese Shar-Pei, never particularly liked people. He prefers a quiet home where he can protect his family and basically be left alone. His day consists of sleeping, tormenting the cat, sleeping, ...
My miniature schnauzer, Buttons, is a little overweight. Not by much mind you, but a few pounds over. She is also a picky eater, so I switched to Kibbles and Bits Lean.

Pros: Inexpensive, looks appealing Cons: Made dog ill
Our adopted Boston Terrier, Slammin' Sammy, hadn't shown a great affection for his original food, Beneful Healthy Weight, so we decided to make a change. After reading reviews on epinions, we decided to give Kibbles & Bits Lean a try. My childhood dog had loved the Kibbles & Bits brand, so I figured that this couldn't hurt.
I was wrong. After a few days of gradually introducing Sammy to the new food, he started to experience severe stomach upset due to the greasy nature of the food. Whereas he had gobbled the food up initially, Sammy began to ignore his food. It seems that he had connected it with the alternating constipation and diarrhea that he was experiencing.
Needless to say, the experiment didn't last very long, and we are back to Beneful. I can't speak to the weight loss properties of Kibbles & Bits Lean, because the only weight loss that my dog experienced was due to not eating and diarrhea. It's a shame, because the food looked much more appetizing and is significantly cheaper than Beneful and other weight control dog foods.
