Kibbles and Bits Lean Makes My Dog More Fun at Parties

by aunt_bee , Sep 27 '03
Pros: Low-fat, apparently tastes great!
Cons: Not as healthy as the fancy science diets.
My dog has never been much of a party hound. Darwin, a Chinese Shar-Pei, never particularly liked people. He prefers a quiet home where he can protect his family and basically be left alone. His day consists of sleeping, tormenting the cat, sleeping, ...

Lean with Protein!

by puff_luvah , Jul 24 '00
Pros: Variety; soft for dry food
Cons: None
My miniature schnauzer, Buttons, is a little overweight. Not by much mind you, but a few pounds over. She is also a picky eater, so I switched to Kibbles and Bits Lean.

When I took my dog to live with me at college, I started by buying her...

Lean, Mean Dog Machine

by laweiler1 , Feb 08 '02
Pros: More Protein, 25% less fat
Cons: Cost, Not a lot of weight loss
Updated 5/13/04 Kibbles and Bits have been around for ages. They call it a "Dry dog Food" however, if you actually look at the food it appears to be somewhat moist. The bits are not hard at all. They even feel soft and can easily be ...

Pros: Lower in fat than other dry dog foods
Cons: It's not compatable with all dogs.
What do you do when one of your precous pets gets a little overweight? I guess two answers are 1: Increase the amount of exercise he/she gets 2: feed him/her a lower fat dog food. choice no.1 is fairly easy to accomplish but choice two ???

It...

Pros: Taste, value, and a well-balanced diet
Cons: I haven't found any!
Kibbles and Bits Lean Dog Food is the perfect choice for my miniature poodle, named Peaches. She has had a history of bowel and weight problems while using other brands, which I will leave anonymous, but Kibbles and Bits has worked out beautifully! She...

LEAN not MEAN!!!

by jodeeb21 , Nov 17 '00
Pros: Helps Maintain Weight
Cons: ???
I own an energetic lab mix. When I had to move into an apartment for a time he did not get as much exercise as when he had a large yard to roam around. Therefore, he gained weight. He has always loved Kibble's and Bits, so I tried the lean version of...

Certainly not the best of times...
by utlegaleagle ,Mar 23 '05
Pros: Inexpensive, looks appealing
Cons: Made dog ill
Our adopted Boston Terrier, Slammin' Sammy, hadn't shown a great affection for his original food, Beneful Healthy Weight, so we decided to make a change. After reading reviews on epinions, we decided to give Kibbles & Bits Lean a try. My childhood dog had loved the Kibbles & Bits brand, so I figured that this couldn't hurt.

I was wrong. After a few days of gradually introducing Sammy to the new food, he started to experience severe stomach upset due to the greasy nature of the food. Whereas he had gobbled the food up initially, Sammy began to ignore his food. It seems that he had connected it with the alternating constipation and diarrhea that he was experiencing.

Needless to say, the experiment didn't last very long, and we are back to Beneful. I can't speak to the weight loss properties of Kibbles & Bits Lean, because the only weight loss that my dog experienced was due to not eating and diarrhea. It's a shame, because the food looked much more appetizing and is significantly cheaper than Beneful and other weight control dog foods.
