Pros: Louder than JL Audio's. Looks nice. Cons: the L7 has a real worth of about $250 tops. dont pay anymore than that.
Since JL Audio is also very popular, i thought i'd give my side by side comparison. I currently use two JL Audio W3v3 12's in sealed enclosure. Their 4 ohm subs drawing 2 ohm load on a RF 600.1bd amp. I wanted to save some space and have a single 2 ohm ...
Pros: awesome bass response, beautiful design, superior clarity Cons: there is no negatives with this subwoofer it is an excellent subwoofer
Superior would be the word to describe theKicker 12 inch L7 Subwoofer. This subwoofer is spectacular in every aspect of the word,I personally have one of these in my 2000 ford focus wagon and"WOW" it is extremely loud the bass is excrutiatingly ...
Pros: EVERYTHING Cons: None unless you turn all your knobs to max {gain, boost, freq, sub level,
I have been in car audio for around 15 years and when Kicker first came out with these "square" subs I was a bit hesitant to commit a full system to them, but three years ago I bought 2 L7 12" subs for my 1993 Jimmy S15 4 door and used a Kicker 1200.1 to ...
Pros: Loud, Sound quality, durable Cons: These are great subs. You won't be let down!
When I first experienced subwoofers, I fell in love with them. I immediately began shopping around for my first set. At the time I was very uneducated about audio equipment and thought that just any pair would suffice. I quickly, but not quickly enough, ...
Crutchfield has these subs reviewed very high. So I go into Circuit City to give them a listen, and I don't think there all that great. In fact I don't think they sound very good at all. The bass isn't very crisp, in fact it can get pretty sloppy. Not at ...
Pros: hard hitting, great construction, great sound quality Cons: square shape makes it more difficult to purchase enclosures
I am a huge car audio enthusiast. Ever since my first car back in 1997, I have been trying to push the envelope on what my vehicles can do. My very first car, a 1995 Mustang started out with the most simplistic of sound systems, featuring a floating ...
Pros: Deep, Rich Bass, Unbelieveable Sound, Unique Design Cons: The impedance is a little misleading, but nothing catastrophic, otherwise ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
After long, hard research, I purchased the Solo-Baric S12L7 4 ohm. I should mention that my family have been doing car audio modifications for over 30 years, and growing up in that environment gave me the knowledge I needed to understand what type of ...
Pros: Great Sound, Look, Wiring options Cons: Needs a lot of power and space to sound right
The Kicker L7's is a great line of speakers if you are looking for them down right low notes. This sub will make you mind shake if you have at least 700 watts going to it. If you don't supply this monster with the power it needs you won't get what you...
The L7 is an amazing sub. The other reviewer was right in saying that one of these will do the job of two of almost anything else. Also the power issue. The sub needs power. Alot of power. I have 800 watts going to mine, and it will take more. But...
Pros: Very hard hitting, unique (although more people use them now), sound pretty good Cons: Takes a lot of watts and a lot of space to reach full potential.
My friend recently bought two of these subs for his older S-10 Blazer. He is powering them off a Memphis 1500D wired to 2 ohm mono. Each sub is recieving 750 rms.
To start off he threw the subs in a sealed box, each one having its own 1.5...
Pros: Great for small cars or trunks with little air space. Cons: Doesnt have well rounded sound.
Hits midlows loudest iv heard from a speaker but you definatley need a serious amp to push these babys, if you dont have a high power amp dont bother buying because they wont even start to knock with anything less then a pure 500w. My drawback from it...
Pros: very great SPL sub, gets LOUD Cons: blows easily if you play it too much
I believe these are great SPL subs and great to play around with but the one thing I do not like is that they distort and will blow easily if you play them too much.
Pros: clean and loud bass, unbelievable SQ with their loudness, worth the money A+ Cons: Needs a lot of power to perform at its peak
I got two of these bad boys from a friend with 2 1000 watt mono block alpine amps powering each. I have them wired at 2 Ohms a piece each receiving 1000 watts. They are in a crappy sealed box that is gives them barely 1.5 cubic feet a piece to work with and they have already hit 148 on the DB meter. Thats pretty damn loud considering the type of box I have them in. GREAT tight bass even though im losing a little in the 30-80 hz range due to the tiny sealed box. I play anything from 36 Mafia to Van Halen to Hank Williams Jr. and these babies POUND, not just sloppy loud bass, im talking about super clean loud bass. Next week ive got a ported probox coming in that will give the subs around 2.75 cubic feet a piece to work with. Sound is awesome, just work with your gains and crossover points to get that perfect sound. Id say they might hit in the 160's but I will update next week with the results.
