I just installed this gate today. I purchased two alternative mounting brackets along with it as recommended by the manufacturer. I consider myself relatively mechanically inclined but I must admit, this gate had me cussing. I honestly can't figure ...

Pros: works to use installed gate without having to drill into a banister
Cons: unclear that other parts need to be purchased from hardware store to make kit complete

The Kidco Gate Kit (model K10) is just a piece of wood. You need to buy other parts at a hardware store such as zip ties to attach the piece of wood to a banister. The kit works for us, but it was disappointing to open it when I got home only to find that I needed to make another trip to a different store to be able to use the 'kit' and gate.
