Murder for fun and profit... well maybe not profit

by Jude29 , Mar 05 '02
Pros: Excellent value. Deviously fun
Cons: The quality of the pieces isn't the greatest
Kill Doctor Lucky, you have to admit it's an intriguing name for a game. It also has an intriguing premise, you want Doctor Lucky dead. So does everyone else for that matter. Kill Doctor Lucky in it's most basic form is a murder mystery game in...

Hey, ya wanna get Lucky? "Hooray for Toys!" Write-off.

by yogore Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Feb 25 '02
Pros: fun-to-price ratio is unbeatable
Cons: it's not this easy to kill your enemies in real life
Why do all mystery games start just after all the fun is over?

This is the basic premise of Cheapass Games' classic Kill Dr. Lucky. We've all played Clue, scurrying around a sprawling manse and trying our best to ferret out the...

Murder Most Foul

by theeye , Oct 16 '00
Pros: Cheap, mentally stimulating fun - easy to take along
Cons: Not exactly G-rated: some parental guidance may be necessary
Looking for a game that's fun for adults and (older) kids alike, easy to learn and play but featuring mind-bending strategizing and maneuvering, readily tossed in a purse or briefcase and dirt cheap to boot? Head on over to Cheapass Games (can ...

Clever and witty little game with great repeat value

by cloudeyes , Jun 04 '02
Pros: Loads of fun, even with lots of players, very cost effective
Cons: Game boards don't stay together, components low quality
The folks at Cheapass have hit on something: produce cute games with sometimes familiar game mechanics on the cheap, add a very original sense of humor and sell them for next to nothing. Kill Doctor Lucky is one of their best games and I can't imagine...

Doctor Lucky, you are the weakest link, goodbye!

by pgifford , Jun 21 '01
Pros: Good cheap fun for older kids and adults, can be played with 2 players
Cons: If you don't mind the fact you're trying to kill an old guy, none.
A little about Cheapass games
Cheapass Games, gotta love them. Just your basic game in an envelope, based upon the premise that everyone has tokens of some sort (if only some coins), dice, and play money from another game (though Cheapass...

Let's kill the other players first.....

by jenzahara , Oct 26 '00
Pros: Fun
Cons: none
This game was used last night at my house for "Games Night." A group of us get together and try out games, and a lot of them are Cheapass games. I find that they are usually easy to learn, and of course have the added attraction of being...

Great fun, and the right price

by bglassford , Oct 16 '00
Pros: Inexpensive & hilarious
Cons: The card stock is not terribly sturdy, and can get destroyed with abuse
Kill Dr. Lucky is Clue in reverse. Instead of solving the mystery of who killed Mr. NoBody, you get to carry out the dirty deed. I seldom see an entire group of adults convulsed with laughter over a game (bad puns, yes, games, no) - but that's exactly...
